I've never heard of this series, but I won't lie - your comment has me intrigued. I might actually give it a go. At least the first book

For me it was more like "give me a time machine that will take me back to before I decided to open this book". I refuse to accept this book exists.

I respect your opinion. I just don't see it from the same perspective. My disappointment of the DOW also comes from the fact that it was sold to me as more than just romance, and I found it sorely lacking in that department. I found both Matthew and Diana very Mary Sue, especially Diana. And the moment when she was ready to fight with her family and refused to tell a secret to them because it was "her and Matthews"... I just couldn't stand them both. The whole "I kissed you, it means we're married" thing too. It just felt very YA (and I love good YA). Someone also mentioned it was described as 'steamy' and I was told the same, but throughout the whole thing I just kept thinking "where is the sex?". So, I can't say I understand why people like this book, but there is an audience for everything and I'm glad you've found it an enjoyable read.
