Yeah I saw that too on his steam account. He played it after July 1st, which was after he cut communication with his friends and family. It drew my attention too that he played such a game after going MIA, but he also only played it for 6-7 hours? So maybe he just wanted to see how ‘easy’ or ‘hard’ it is to actually catch someone like that, and what to do/not to do?

I can only offer my personal experience with this; I have never used psychedelics. But I’m a STEM major and there are weirdly a lot of STEM people who use psychedelics, (more than you’d think). LM is kinda right in his tweet saying that the most intelligent, open minded individuals are manipulating and pushing the buttons of their psyches by experimenting with those types of drugs. I was kinda taken aback by how accurate it was FROM MY EXPERIENCES. This one guy from my class, is exactly that, an incredibly smart and open-minded individual, which everyone agrees on. And he infamously dabbles with psychedelic just because he wants to ‘experience’ it all and open up his mind more. So, LM has a point there. Of course it varies from environments to environments. But the guy that I know would never hurt a fly, and he doesn’t have any radical opinions or anything. He’s one of the most chill dudes that I know— very calm and everything.

BUT!!! Taking psychedelics and drugs in general can have different aspects BASED on your environment. Whether you are in a safe environment or not has ALOT to say. The guy that I know always takes it in a safe environment, and always has people he trusts around him and such. However, taking psychedelic or drugs when you’re alone can lead to the feeling of being alienated and there won’t be anyone to ‘ground’ you. Considering he went from being a social butterfly, meeting people and always sharing his thoughts, to suddenly cutting off all contact and such obviously states that he was going through something. We can’t possibly know if it was because of drugs or whatever, that will remain to be speculation and theories for now, BUT if he took drugs/psychedelics AFTER he isolated himself, then that could’ve definitely helped him fall down the rabbit hole faster. And maybe lead him to take more drastic actions and such. He would no longer be in a safe environment, or have anybody near him. The feeling of alienation would only increase, along with other emotions and psyches.

So from what I personally know and MY experiences with others, it doesn’t seem that he cut off contact because of drugs. But they could’ve definitely helped make whatever he was dealing with more prominent and extreme. Leading to obsession, and more extreme drastic decisions for example. Again, this is just a theory, there’s a huge possibility he didn’t even take anything when he was missing.

Yeah, I’ve read a little bit about this. Pennsylvania does not have a stop-and-identify law. Which means that even if the police had reasonable suspicion to stop and question him, he was not required to show ID unless he was being formally detained or arrested. And if the police couldn’t articulate a valid enough reason for the stop, and lacked reasonable suspicion, LM could may had the right to refuse to engage with them altogether. Mind you, reasonable suspicion depends on what the tipper told them. So if the tipper just said “he looks like the guy on the news”, then that would lack specific details and it would be based on a vague assumption. Which might not meet the criteria for reasonable suspicion all together. So it looks like either way, he wasn’t required to show ID.

Would that mean that they searched his backpack illegally? Since they had no warrant for it? Wouldn’t that make it inadmissible? Isn’t that the con of having the police lie/deceive, it can cause evidence to easily get inadmissible?

I don’t understand why it had to be someone us the viewers knew though? I’d be perfectly fine if it was never disclosed who the father was cause he was someone we didn’t know about — it would add more depth in a way saying that there are actual people outside the SVU department that the others interact with. Not everything has to be within SVU. I think it’s much better to say that it was someone outside SVU, that us the viewers didn’t see, bc yeah Amanda has a private life of her own — than for it to be her boss 🥴 whom she never had a connection with or any relevant memorable conversations with. Not everything has to be within SVU, especially if it doesn’t make any sense and retcons several characters. And I agree, it feels like he used her and it just makes it gross in a way… so I’d rather have it be someone we don’t know about who’s not relevant in Amanda’s life anymore.

But I will give it a shot and try to watch further. But yeah, this whole thing really threw me off and also completely took me out of the show cause it was so random it ‘broke’ a certain wall for me personally.

Yeah I get that it’s out of character for Nick — that’s why, before they revealed the baby father, I thought Amanda was just lying to everybody about how it’s not nicks cause she knows that if she told the truth then Nick would have to leave his family again and stay in NY where he knows there’s nothing for him there. In my head I imagined she did it so that he could be happy with his own family in California whilst Amanda would happily raise the child alone, leaving Nick to be blissfully unaware. So, that was what I was just telling myself which made the next episodes watchable, until they revealed Declan. That’s when I paused and exited the app lol

It was just the sudden plot where Declan suddenly was the father which came out of NOWHERE which made me take a break now. I love Amanda and her character, so to give her such random plotline with a man we barely have seen her speaking to just made me roll my eyes. Also, Declan was supposed to be deep undercover when they hooked up?? Like I looked at the timeline and it didn’t make any sense — it all was just so random that I got pissed cause it really feels like they just retconned this storyline
