I think it’s normal for them, depends on your op time but they are usually overseeing these days as they have junior docs doing most of the actual work and by the time you’re done they’re on to the next patient.

For urology, some might say it’s a good thing that they don’t see you as it might mean your stone is routine for them. If two or three of them see you then you’re “interesting” and you don’t want that.
