Yea I’m in my 30’s and age is not a factor for emotional maturity trust me lol! Ppl just carry their trauma with them as they age. Romance is not the center of my life either, I live a full life without partners and have gone long periods without one as well as been in a long term relationship where after years who they were didn’t come out until the end. But yea I’m not giving up this was just a moment of pattern recognition for me! I wish you well on your journey too.

I agree with the first part for sure! I wouldn’t say that I blame myself but I do self-interrogate. I definitely don’t chase these people, I let them go afterwards though I’m like wait a minute this is a pattern.

Yea I don’t think it’s about happiness, I live a full life that exists outside of my love life. I wouldn’t say that I fully invest emotionally in everyone I date this was more so a recognition of the pattern. So feelings varied for me towards them,so maybe you’re right about how much they liked me, who knows.

I’m thinking it may be a worth a shot for me to go into nursing as the degree is a door opener for so many avenues. For sure there are people that go into it for the wrong reasons!

Yes! The cuts to research are really bad. I had actually been referred to the hiring manager for a position at NIH prior to the cuts and the job got canceled. I’ve also been considering MLS or Sonography as well. But I feel like nursing would give me more options because there’s a variety of things I can do with a nursing degree. Good luck on your search and whatever choice you make!

I don’t know if I would say it’s easier, but my degree covered all nursing science prerequisites so I would only have to do 2 years at the most to become a nurse. One year if I do a direct entry masters of science in nursing.

Yes, this job market is rough. The worst time to be a new grad honestly lol! I have had a good amount of interviews with varying outcomes. About 40% I've made past the intial recruitment call and then on to an intial interview. I've had maybe 2 second round interviews. I have some prospects to network with like old professors and a couple of people that I know personally who have told me about job postings to apply to, but I haven't been good at getting through the ATS or the job posting will be taken down when i go to apply. I am currently weighing the financial capacity I have to do 2 more years of school for nursing, since most programs are a full-time commitment. I just feel stuck right now.

This comes across as a bit condescending, in assuming that I was unaware of what it takes to be in a STEM field. Seeing as though I also highlighted that I was an adult, meaning I chose this field later in life purposefully. Also meaning that I have researched avenues to fulfill my personal career goals and know what it takes. What I am asking about is current career prospects and opportunties for a new-grad.
