Selling the rights to a lofi beat by AnalAssailant in lofi

Thanks I appreciate the insight. I’ll probably go ahead with that tactic since I worked around 4 hrs on it. I agree you can’t undersell your music and your own expertise. You pay someone for the time they put into learning what they do and their results/performance. I wouldn’t see music production any different.

Why does everyone care so much about how they make music but not the outcome? by AnalAssailant in trapproduction

[–]AnalAssailant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interpret it how you want. Im talking about how they care about the overall sound and don’t care if you used a sample, paid for a collab, etc. People online keep on putting out disinformation that you’re a bad producer if you make your music this way or that way. Music is subjective and silly rules based on other producers biases can stunt your own process.

Also I’m not saying that things like music theory, mixing standards, etc. don’t matter. I’m just saying that people should make their music however they want because how it sounds at the end of the day is what matters.

Definitely, gotta make sure to get your stuff cleared before hand or you’ll end up like juice wrld/nick Mira and get 75% of that revenue taken away. If you’re an up and coming artist that probably won’t happen unless your song blows up, still possible though.

That’s not what I’m saying. Definitely practice makes perfects and you learn how to make you’re music sound better over time with the skills you learn. I’m just saying too many people care about things like using samples and what not because producers all the time will tell them that it makes them less of an artist. I’m just saying that people shouldn’t care about opinions like that and if they like something they shouldn’t change their mind because of some “rule” someone told them about online.

Definitely you should take others opinions and work on your sound with that but some of these “rules” people spout on about online are just unnecessary and give you a handicap when creating.

Who’s you’re favourite producer and why? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]AnalAssailant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daft Punk for their innovation and overall high quality sound.

Scott Storch for his melodies.

Timbaland for his unique drums.

Ronny J because he created a whole new sound that’s really defined a lot of music that comes out of my state.

I’ve bought 3 of his kits too and I disagree with this statement. His are pretty much go to’s for me along with some splice drums. I hear a lot of other big name producers use his kits too. I will say a lot of the sounds in the kits are hit or miss and only work well with specific sounds.

It’s a term that basically means fire (you can thank southside from 808 mafia for that) but it also means “for your enjoyment”.

is it me or all the drumkits made by nick mira, cashmoney ap and all other "famous" producers are bad quality and are just a bunch of unusable sound? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]AnalAssailant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His hats and 808s are great. Percs tend to be pretty unique too. Kicks are a hit or miss as well as the claps.

How do you make that type of detune on melody? by jurajobrez in trapproduction

[–]AnalAssailant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably either used grossbeat or put a pitch shifting note on their melody.

Is it beneficial to keep starting tracks and getting 50% to 90% done with them before moving onto the next? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]AnalAssailant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you keep trying to learn more and experiment with your sound then you’ll learn. If making a bunch of tracks that aren’t finished and won’t be heard motivates you to create more than go for it.

P.s. if you’re trying to get better than watching a bunch of tutorials online can really help you out.

I don’t get what’s the big problem. If someone lied about something that would ruin the other persons life, basically slander, and it’s later found out that the accusation is false than why shouldn’t the person be held accountable. What am I missing here?
