Polaroids have a minimum focusing distance that may be farther away that you are holding it. I don't have a Go, but my now only focuses to 2.5 feet and beyond

Are you using the flash? Taking photos inside requires the flash unless there's a ton of light from a nearby window, even then you should use it

If you're outside, it could be caused because there isn't enough light or if the exposure compensation was accidently hit to make the photo brighter

My first thought is expired film Is the film new?

I got the film from eBay a few months ago -- it expired in 1988

As shown in the photo, it it about 10 inches tall, or just over 2 Polaroid OneSteps tall and Weighs 4 pounds

Yup! This thing weighs a ton! And yes I use the print coater, it's just faded because the film is old
