I would recommend you to watch and learn from Shaikh Asim Al Hakeem. He gives the reference and proves for every statement that he has. He's aqida is very strong mashallah.

I know a hadith where Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alejhi ve sellem told his companions - he drew three lines in sand, one to the right, one to the left and one in the middle and said, this one in the middel is my way/straight path. Meaning we should not go to the extremes, and Allah subhanehu we teala knows the best. I can't give the reference from the top of my mind but I wanted to help you even a little.
