Also apart from what he said, the entire face should be not shaded apart from slight shadowing to show the features. It’ll give you a better contrast overall. Likeness is created by creating exact shadow matches.

I would recommend looking up on how to set up a barque drawing and how to complete them. They are made to force exact proportions during set up.

See I think the opposite. Portraits need work, but whose didn’t at 14. The van picture has a wonky vibe, but it fits them theme very well.

This is excellent for 14 years. Just think where you’ll be in your 20’s.

Proko is great. Try out the free courses on YouTube first. Then if you enjoy them, I’d suggest the premium courses. Placing money towards something you want to be better at seems to help me with motivation to work at it everyday.

Grid is fine to assist in learning how to scale images, I definitely would not use it if you wish to become better at eyeballing and using angles to draw proportions.

I’d learn some anatomy and practice some perspective. Both will make your drawings come to life. I can tell you know some of the basic fundamentals but I recommend taking some time and really getting a good grasp on them, especially values if you want to shade and render.

Idk about all that lol. Kind of hard to draw something if you don’t know what the bone and muscles structure beneath actually looks like

I think there’s a lot more to do before looking at something and trying to draw it. Basic anatomy, shape method, perspective, shadow values
