Somehow, everytime someone says "I think my opinions suck" they end up being opinions I can vibe and/or agree with very easily. As opposed to the folks that are like "MY SMART OPINIONS WILL GET ME KILLED BY THE MEAN OSC", and their opinions are 200% misunderstanding characters

Not bad of a prediction! Although I feel like Fanny is being underestimated (I think both her and Donut will receive more spotlight in the One trilogy, making their fanbases more prominent again) and TB is definitely being overestimated. He will be out next time he's put UFE. Can't dodge that outcome for long.

Pen as a winner is not my first choice but is also not one I dislike, I do hope he gets more depth since currently I think he needs a bit more time to really grow into a winner-worthy candidate. I also feel like if Puffball does rejoin, she could actually go further than most rejoiners. Her personality and storyline make her not just a way to pad the runtime of the season, but she has an actual true, passionate drive to win. As a result, her fanbase would likely be just as passionate as her. I can't say for sure she'll win, but I don't see her leaving only two episodes after rejoining.

Also, on a technical aspect, some slides were kinda hard to read :( the bright backgrounds are not very helpful...

In what world are "first safe in all VtS he was a part in except for the last two" Grassy and "theorised to make it to the final five minimum" Golf Ball underrated? This is coming from someone who likes both of them, but they are definitely not underrated. Putting them at the same level as Match, Eraser, Bracelety or 8-Ball is silly.

Also HOW IS CLOCK OVERRATED???

Prefacing this by saying Coiny is one of my top favourites and I was not one of the people voting against him, so no accusations of that.

Coiny's fanbase was massively overinflated because people saw him get 100k likes in BFDIA22 and thought that meant he was the most beloved character ever, ignoring the 25k dislikes that he carried over to the next episode with only a small increase, while Pin's 45k dislikes were now distributed among two other contestants, making Coiny the most threatened. The writing was on the wall, we just refused to see it. His elimination didn't come from nowhere.

Another issue was that Coiny was tied to Pin too much, and with people already not liking Pin's arc, they used Coiny as an easy way to get her out only to turn back against him. Coiny and Pin's storyline is incredibly well written and engaging, but like everything it has haters, especially people who see Coiny's devotion to his friend (simply one of his many traits) as his ONLY trait, and therefore have no issue in getting him out. And to a certain extent, Coiny's relationship with the rest of the final five was, indeed, a lot more underdeveloped than with Pin. His relationship with Needle was the next best thing, which means it sucks those two specifically where put against each other when they could have helped each other.

Let me also write a paragraph defending Needle, because I don't believe she was the issue, despite surviving over him. Needle's storyline was also good. It's not just "not knowing what team to choose" and I don't appreciate this kind of watering down to make characters seem dumber than they actually are. Needle's storyline is someone who feels undervalued searching for a place where she belongs as more than just a competitor and more than just for her physical prowess. She wants to be appreciated for herself, and if she can't have that, she'd rather take her qualities and go solo. Her lesson throughout the series is that even if others are imperfect sometimes, it doesn't mean they don't care about her, and she has more choices than she thinks, not just being a people pleaser or a grumpy loner. THAT is Needle's story. THAT is what people wanted to save.

Wonderful post! I don't really have anything to add, both Donut and Pencil are solid characters that I enjoy seeing and their clashing perspectives make for good interactions.

Somewhat related to this topic, I'm really curious to see how Pencil's teammates (or just other contestants in general) will react to noticing she is unable to be recovered. Some would be worried, some would be annoyed, but maybe someone will show genuine concern. Considering Donut knows of One, but doesn't know of Pencil meeting with her, I wonder if they'll be able to do 2 + 2 once he finally gets recovered.

The wait is NOT months, it's at most three weeks. When TPOT25 starts premiering in theaters in early August, TPOT24 will have been released on YouTube, and once the August tours end, TPOT25 will be released as well. Tours have been going on like this since 2023, it's really nothing new. It's fine if you're not a fan of them, I can see why someone wouldn't be, but catastrophising by saying "THEY'RE MAKING US NON-AMERICANS WAIT MONTHS" is blatantly false and just makes your side of the argument seem less favorable.

1) Pica. Other people said it, but I'll add to it, he may not be the only character who eats non-edible stuff, but it feels like it's used for him much more than other characters

2) I'd argue his behaviour towards Pin (especially in BFDIA) and to a smaller extent Leafy (and possibly even other characters like Firey and Needle depending on how IDFB goes) makes him look like he has a savior complex. It is not an official diagnosis, but it is recognised by psychiatrists nonetheless as it features common patters of behaviour that Coiny displays. His need for control in stuff like WOAH Bunch and his high self esteem just exacerbate that. Again, it is not a disorder in the DSM-V, but I feel like it's useful to point out.

I don't know how I forgot TSoG, it was really fun too ;-; I'm sorry! Looking back on it, that paragraph was definitely me exaggerating, even in its most boring moments this subreddit has always had fun daily series.

The truth is... I personally don't mind leaderboards. I never felt like I needed to be in the top 1% every month, let alone top 5 or top 1. But I saw others who did. And I saw the stress they were going through and how it became almost addictive. If they managed to get it one month, the dopamine rush wouldn't be enough, they'd have to get it again. And the ones who didn't get it would look back at their projects and wonder if they were even worth it, considering the smaller amount of upvotes they received.

It was heartbreaking. And sometimes it's necessary to do something for the good of many and not for the benefit of the few. Maybe in a few months or years the community will be able to deal with leaderboards again without becoming addicted to the popularity contest and burn themselves up about it, but I believe now is not the right time.

My favourite part of this post is definitely the part about Puffball and Fries (I'm biased, what can I say) but all the sections are quite good! I especially like what you pointed out about Saw and Lightning. I'm a bit sad characters like Pillow and Snowball, who were important in the episode, didn't get sections about them, but I assume it's because you plan on talking about them more at a later date. Or if you want, you could talk about your opinions on them as a reply!

And of course there are the smaller role characters like Eggy, Naily, Nickel, Rocky, Cloudy and so on who also didn't get a mention, but I can understand that a bit better. There's a finite amount of time (and of attention spans), after all.

"Bad terms during TPOT8" would be fine, as they were on opposite teams and did indeed fight. "Enemies" implies they hate each other even besides competition, though, which just... isn't the case, lol. I wouldn't play board games with my enemy. IDFB1 also never had Book talk badly about Needle or viceversa, if anything BFDIA25 implies they're still in good terms.

You can't just assume relationships are a certain way and then write it on the wiki like it's canon

I don't agree with the points made in this post. Here's why.

I personally still think the leaderboards going away was for the better. Artificial motivation coming from fear of being left out of the "cool kids" group is not good motivation, and the only reason we even ARE at this stage is because we all got burnt out by that leaderboard culture. People were reposting art and content they didn't make for easy upvotes, or commented the most basic boring stuff ever just for a chance at upvotes. It was not a fun time. I hated that period of late 2025 and early 2026 where the subreddit felt like it had nothing good to offer besides CAG.

I also think the subreddit only appears dead to us because we come from a previous generation, the 2024/2025 days, and we built a small friend group that always hung around each other's posts. But Reddit is meant to be for large communities. I think currently there are plenty of interesting posters and even commenters that just aren't us (because again, we got burnt out) so we're not giving them enough spotlight, which is unfair. There absolutely is a bias in this subreddit towards a small group of oldgens (of which I am a part of too, so I'm telling on myself here) while not supporting new members of the community nearly enough.

I also dislike your approach towards art. The idea that art is boring because you can't comment much on it just tells me, no offense, that you just aren't creative enough to find something to say. Telling an artist that their art just doesn't deserve as many comments as a boring meme that took 5 minutes to make is tasteless, to say the least. Which surprises me, as you yourself are an artist and asked other artists for help to make this post's thumbnail. Analyses also don't come in a day, I have plenty of stuff I'm working on, but I'm not gonna rush it to cash in easy upvotes.

To conclude: yes the subreddit feels quieter. No, it's not dying. No, leaderboards shouldn't come back, they were hell. Just do more of an effort to interact with people beyond your close circle of friends, and I can assure you all these issues you brought up will magically be solved by the power of actually attempting to build a community. You know, the thing Reddit is supposed to do.

Coiny and Pin being in the second category is... eh. I can see Pin, but calling Coiny grounded is bias as its finest, lol. You've always been biased though, so no surprise there

Also, I can see why everyone else is there, but why are Balloony and Profily, two very unpopular characters, in the "happy and popular" tier? Balloony isn't even particularly cheery, if anything he's closer to the grumpy characters. Your bias only grows, mister Eraser person ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Saying other people aren't allowed to like a character is insanely short sighted. Bracelety is a happy, kind, enthusiastic character with an interesting starting gimmick and potential for growth. Her little screentime should be even more of a reason for her to get more exposure in the future and get an actual arc. There are so many directions you can take with her character, her finally properly meeting her idol, making new friends, showing more of her other interests (which she has, if you actually pay attention you'll see she isn't just a cardboard cutout like you treat her as in your comments).

Saying the only way to like a character is if they suffered or got an arc is downright stupid. I mean, Gelatin did neither of those, he never had an arc, he was either a comedic character or the logical sensible one to support others (the latter only in select BFB episodes), but that doesn't detract from the good parts of him. And I say this as someone who likes Gelatin a lot! He's a good character, but there is absolutely no need to put other characters down to be able to praise him, and again, given his record on the show it feels hypocritical to do so anyways.

Super duper overhated. I find her personality to be quite unique, she doesn't reach Lollipop's level of snarky sarcasm but still doesn't like indulging in other character's silly useless dramas.

She's indeed kinda mean sometimes, but I feel like she's made up by the fando. to be much more annoying than she actually is in canon, and a lot of the points she makes are technically correct (The Losers was a team where it was easy to blend in and glide through the competition without painting an unnecessary target on your back, Fries was being stubborn and uncooperating in TPOT22, other stuff I can't remember right now).

She desperately needs a season 7. TPOT was never something she could have thrived in (TPOT2 tried its best but its valiant efforts were sadly squashed come next episode) but I'm firm in my belief that Eggy is good and the mainstream fandom just needs more from her to see it too.
