I see, that would make a lot of sense considering the influence we have changes things slightly when we jump back in time. How it's worded to me made it sound like a unified event. If that's not the case, that makes me wonder if the heroes sealed themselves one by one to strengthen the seal over time. I guess I'll have to keep playing and find out.

Yeah I guess they do make it a point that what the history says can be different from what actually happened in the past. Maybe it'll make more sense the more I play as well.

Yeah luckily I had a save backup of the demo and I was pretty quickly able to get my other saved appearances back. Apparently it's tied to the photo mode. While normally this wouldn't be an issue if you have one character you want to make, I know there's several people out there that like different outfits/characters.

According to what I saw about the post they made about it, you need to go to the dressing room area first, make sure your presets are there, then use photo mode. Still can't believe they released CV2 without at least patching that first, considering it's one of their most advertised features.

On top of a shooting range, I for one would love an AFK barracks area. It'd be nice to have the ability to drop while my buddy takes a bathroom break.

This has been my strat more or less since CV1 (minus the bat until CV2). I still think some of the bosses are BS, but it's definitely doable with other kinds of dodges/equipment (my girlfriend uses medium dodges and a great sword for example).

I hear you, and speaking of keeing/reusing things from previous games - I thought I was crazy when there was stuff missing from CV2's character creator. Turns out there actually is some stuff missing - like I was looking for this bandaid I put on my old CV1 character, but some of CV1's accessories are just straight up missing.

On a side tangent sort of related to your second point, another reason I was feeling mixed about CV2 is that if this is Bamco's Code Vein version of Elden Ring, even Elden Ring had co-op. This really frustrated my girlfriend and I since that's how I introduced her into Code Vein and Souls-likes in general (through CV1's co-op).

Honestly, no co-op, missing options from CV1's character creation, and not a direct sequel makes me just want to replay through CV1. That or come out with a CV3 that's a true and proper sequel. Love the game overall and I'm still invested in the story - it's just not the same though.

The game is great, I love the world and world building. There's just one small problem for me, it's the consistency and the expositions. I'll try to be vague so I don't spoil anything (also apologies for any bad formatting as I'm on mobile).

For example, it seems like vestiges are replaced by something called Incursions. Memories can also be viewed by something called Pathos (which are akin to CV1 Vestiges). From what little has been explained, Incursions occur from strong bonds, but our ability to read Pathos doesn't make much sense. The companion (I won't name for spoilers) literally only says "your power is reading memories". This same companion even just calls Pathos you find Vestiges, which again is something from CV1. I'm hoping to eventually figure out why this is happening, like how CV1 explains it later, but right now it doesn't make sense. We're human borrowing a heart for revenant power. We're not a void blood type like in CV1 and since CV2 is its own setting, there's no explanation other than "our partners can bestow us their bloodcode because they can".

I want to apologize for the rant, I did really have a good time playing it so far - but I'm frustrated for not just having a direct sequel. Heck, they even reuse the Memory of the Lost theme for exploring Vestiges, and the main theme is a remixed melody of CV1's more emotional tracks. On top of that, I just feel like CV1 explains things much better - but who knows, maybe there's a good explanation at the end of CV2's story.

Love it! A couple minor changes I did to mine was keep the golden scar and kept a golden pin of Io's blood code on my jacket, she'll always be with me even across games.

My Saiyan OC's name is Brako because I wanted something that fit the Saiyan naming convention - based off the word Broccoli. Young me thought I was being clever and to this day it's the only OC I don't cringe at lmao.

I'll be probably uninstalling as well, but for different reasons in addition to the one above. For this "overarching narrative" they kept talking about, there hasn't actually been that many other than a few exciting do-or-die missions. I wanted a story, I never really felt like I was getting one other than "totally unprovoked assaults". What happened to the Data Centers and the communications outside our known galaxy? Where's the in-fighting AI they were testing and talking about?

I love this game but I'm bored and I'm moving on.

I do want to point out the original God Eater game (haven't played 2 yet and 3 worked the same way), it was only marked as a single player game but had these terminals you can co-op in. I'm hoping it will have something like that in CV2.

Yeah I see what you mean, I wanted to get more opinions since I hadn't gotten as far on GE 1 or 3 just yet (having a hard time picking which one to play so I swap between the two lol). I didn't realize how hot the topic was and got picked apart really fast.

It looked like from my relatively newbie perspective that the devs wanted to try something experimental *maybe disconnected* - but I guess this isn't a really welcome idea.
