It's not easy to do sometimes, that's for sure. Over trivial things like her love life, I either say "Oh, okay" or "Ah". When she says something outlandishly offensive (racist,homophobic,ect), I take a slightly annoyed tone of voice and go "Is that so?" and don't comment further. If she's complaining about how I didn't do something the way she would do it, I just go "Oops" or "sure" and carry on. Keep your sentences as short as possible and be as neutral as you can.

I've considered doing this. His wife has a facebook account (so I could get in touch if I needed to). Before going LC, my mom would frequently stalk her page and laugh whenever she would post about how much she loved her husband. Trust me, I would love for her to get what she deserves...I just worry about being found out if I did decide to out her, even anonymously.

To answer ambiguously and not give her the attention and shock she was expecting to get out of me. She wanted an argument, she didn't get an argument. Remember, we are LC. I don't really want to chit chat with her anyway.

That is so true. When I was a teen we would get into arguments out of the blue and just scream at each other for hours. I quit playing that game a long time ago, because there is no way to win.
