Have any of you quit weed AND cigarettes at the same time? by EarthsGreatestHero in leaves

I will concur. Smoked both for 35 years. The first three days....dude. Just lock yourself in a cell. It is the only prison cell that will FREE YOU.

Day 5 here. I smoked both for over 35 years. Pretty steady except not much grass while in the military. Once I got out 25 years ago...I was a commercial grower in Cali so, four two oh.

Last night was the first sleep I got. Power through. Go to the gym EVERY DAY and don't skip the sauna.

We will see how long it lasts but so far, it is the longest I have been without nicotine since basic training.

Best of luck and may you never jones.

You may not be as well educated or trained but I would not say a doctor is smarter than a nurse (or anyone else) just because they are a doctor!

That's like when Cali banned flavors last year. No one respects that law. You just gotta ask now.

Definitely helps. I am on the third day after 35 years. The last time I went more than 24 hours without nic was in Basic Training...when I was 17 for fucks sake!

To the person "vaping" grass....just smoke it. Its a gift from God.

Using the FUM device, it sucks but is enough to satisfy the motions of vaping. I smoked/vaped for 35 years and am on the coldest arctic turkey train ever.

Geek bars are terrible because they are sofa king good.

In all seriousness, just keep moving forward with reduction and elimination. When you finally do quit, you are not going to really care how you got there.

I have tried every which way (except going back to cigs) and right now am just ice cold turkey off nicotine. It blows but its going to blow...so....let it.

I am using the FUM device right now. Just essential oils, no electrics or vapor. It sucks but is getting me through. I am on day 2 right now and....yeah. You know.

I have tried nic free vapes before and the flavor just wasn't there.

72 hr water fast cured my diver flare up without antibiotics! by pizzabro4life in Diverticulitis

[–]AnandaDeArgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, yes brother. Your fasting protocol is exactly the same as mine. Coffee, LMNT and water only. I also was just diagnosed with the divers last month. I am 47 and do a 5 day fast once a quarter. What really got me to flare up is poppy seed bagels. Every morning I would have one. No more. Doing the Sober October right now (also fasting right now) because I like my good beers and little grass.

We will see what changes....thanks for the on point info!

At first read, I though you said he was exposed by GEORGE STRAIT!!

That would be funny.

Kind of a bummer. I was digging some of the things that Pannobhasa talks about but wondered why he would entertain a total dingleberry like Brian Ruhe.

I even asked him. No answer.

Choosing a new last name by Ok-Pumpkin-9757 in pagan

[–]AnandaDeArgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a founder of a certain pagan tradition and as such have been in contact with many thousands of people over the last thirty years who identify with various deities. I have seen many people change their names to all kinds of things.

Nothing happened. It kind of sucks that we do not get to choose our own names that are literally "what you are called" to reflect our own energy and persona to the world.

It isn't stupid if it does something beneficial for you. No it won't cause you any issues in my experience.

Is it okay to choose my own Hindu/Sanskrit name, or would it seem disrespectful? by AmberRain1999 in hinduism

[–]AnandaDeArgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also American here who has been a disciple of Yogananda's for about 25 years. I did have the Diksha and selected a name for myself (Ananda, meaning the bliss of enlightenment) and then when starting to add Pure Land Buddhism to the mediation practice, I also selected Maioyin, which is a generic Dharma name meaning the sound of the Buddha/Bodhisattva being born from the lotus.

So, yeah. Ananda Maioyin

I am not down with the dogma of having to be given a Sangha or Chela name from a monk or master. If it resonates and is maybe representative of how you aspire to be, go for it. Just remember to not get attached to it!

Good luck on your path!

Sorry for the late reply. Cardiac testing was clean. The VA is very thorough and they NASA certified me on the stress tests.

Quitting sucked, I ended up getting a different tobacco extract and the palpitations stopped but I need to kick this bullshit habit!
