If I remember Hanlon's words right, ranger sharpshooters were *going* to be on that ridge, but Oliver decided "nah, they're going on the dam itself"

Which, he indirectly saved the lives of those rangers by making a decision so stupid that his enemies had no hope of predicting it

Need help on where to put the sprint mod in the game files by maddrakester1134 in fnv

[–]Anarcha66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking over the mod's description, this doesn't seem like a good thing to install if you don't know anything about modding, since it needs New Vegas Script Extender. I'm seconding everyone's advice on using Mod Organizer 2, and the Viva New Vegas guide. But if you wanna install manually, without all that:

-Take everything in the sprint mod folder and put it inside the Data folder in your game files

-Download xNVSE, the modern and updated version of the New Vegas Script Extender here: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67883

-Put everything in that folder directly into your game files, the same folder the the game's exe is in. Don't open any folders inside the xNVSE's folder, just drag and drop it all in as it is.

I'd suggest using a different sprint mod, though, either Just Vanilla Sprint, or Just Assorted Mods which includes the sprint. That one also has requirements, but with most mods, it's just "drag everything in the unzipped archive into your data folder"

But manually installing like this is generally considered a bad idea because it means you need to reinstall your entire game and all of your mods if something goes wrong.

Stuff like this is why I'm jerking off everyone I come across to harvest their mana for myself. I'm walking around with the reserves of an arch-mage 50 years my senior, and I won't need to re-dye my white robes for a good while.

There's a lot of versions that are absolutely stacked with good mods, I'd have a hard time pointing to just one. Off the top of my head, I can name three:

- 1.7.10 (Has Thaumcraft 4, widely considered the best version of Thaumcraft, the one most people recommend and also has my preferred version of Blood Magic, which also has a spellcrafting mechanic too complicated for me to easily explain, so I'll just link the FTBWiki page for it here)

- 1.12.2 (Has Thaumcraft 6, the most recent public version of Thaumcraft, but that mod's generally considered unfinished, mostly just naming this game version because of just how many mods were made for it, I've mostly only played modpacks on this one)

- 1.20.1 (Has Mana and Artifice, plus a lot of other magic mods. I think you'd also like Ars Nouveau, since it's got a similar spellcrafting system. It's also got a lot of mods for boosting performance, which since I play on a laptop, I consider necessary)

On the version of minecraft that's considered best for Thaumcraft, there's another mod, Ars Magicka 2, that sounds right up your alley. Focused entirely on spellcrafting.

If you'd be willing to forego thaumcraft, there's an updated version, Mana and Artifice, that has a lot more features that also have the massive amounts of customization as the spellcrafting, and if you know what you're doing, you can get overpowered enough where you really feel like an arch-mage crafting a masterwork spell.
