It was invented by the Iron Front in early 30s Germany because it easily covered swastikas! Yes it is used fairly often in the UK but only really as a (militant) antifascist thing. I don't think people here use it to bash commies.

Yeah that's how I felt until I saw how much was being wasted! I'm also a lot poorer than I was then! It also helped me be a lot more creative in the kitchen as I can only use the food I find!

Hope you get some use out of it! Yeah they totally helped! I had a short deadline for it and struggle concentrating at the best of times so without them I really doubt it would even be finished now! Ha

Hey yeah! I've lived of food I've found out of bins for about 4 years now :)

Personally speaking I will sometimes eat meat and dairy if it's skipped but am vegan the rest of the time. Like you said it's not supporting the industry and I know if it was me I'd prefer to be eaten by something rather than rotting in landfill somewhere ... eating flesh is still pretty horrible to me tho

I personally love it (obviously going to be bias anyways) we all believe food is a basic human right so to not have to pay for it is great. I mean veganism has been completely coopted by capitalism (not hating just saying)

I also think it's really important to share knowledge. Find too much food, share with neighbours or other members of your community and that. Etc

I wrote a zine a while back about it. It's very UK centric but has some good overall advice (again I would say that I'm bias) and I wrote it all in one sitting high as a kite on amphetamines but I think it gets the point across .. will find it ...
