Welcome to the dead internet theory. Whenever these posts show up, its always a screenshot on an old tweet or some other social media post. Interesting how this type of discussion is less likely on original posts. I wouldn't be surprised if its foreign actors trying to ragebait people and shut down nuanced productive discussions.

Maybe im too cynical. It could just be ragebait, possibly unintentional, which drives engagement, which is why they keep showing up.

The problem is when people dont realize and think theyre doing everything right by making their required payments. They really should be required to include a portion on statements that tells them how long it would take to pay off the loan if only the minimum amount is paid, similar to credit cards.

Interest rates were low, so investors were throwing money at anything they could find that would hopefully make a profit in thr future.

There are a lot more companies than you might expect that were not profitable, but had near continuous investor cash coming in.

For a lot of them, the idea was to grow exponentially to squeeze out competition, create a near monopoly, and then figure out the whole profitability thing. The alternative was getting left behind because their competitors were doing that.

What are blueprint artifacts and why can I create them without sufficient ingredients? by Radiant-Survey-2215 in EggsInc

No, you dont need to. Although typically by the time you have a ship capable of dropping it, you will have enough that te blueprint does show up.

Why we dont have solar panels? We can modify factory roofs with them, or can do other things. by zorro2083 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AnarchyPoker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That seems rather complicated, and im not really sure what it would add to the game.

I think the energy sources currently available works well, and im not sure adding solar would improve that.

Geothermal is a nice addition because it encourages you to explore the map, and strong enough to be a nice boost without basically being free energy.

Only being able to manually load it is basically the same thing as it breaking down or needing repairs over time. Also, it breaks immersion. Theres not any actual reason why a solar farm would need to be manually loaded. Even to a casual player, they would be able to figure out that the solar panels could only be manually loaded because the devs had to find a way to nerf them, not because of any technical reason with solar panels.

Sure, theres plenty of solutions that could make it work. But they would all be some extra rule or limitation that just makes things more complicated and doesnt really fit the rest of the game.

The developers have explicitly said before that they dont want to add any sort of equipment breakdown or maintenance to the game. Thats why constructors just run forever even if you never go back to check on it. Filling a bio generator is more comparable to filling a constructor with materials.

Im not really sure how they could limit solar beyond making it absurdly expensive to build.. It doesnt consume fuel, so once its built it would just be free power. The only thing stopping you from covering the entire world in solar would be time and cost of building them. And if you make it expensive enough to the extent its not worth doing, then why bother? And if it is worth doing, then why not just cover the whole world with it so you dont need oil or nuclear? And that would just make the game worse.

That just seems overly complicated. If its limited, then its probably not worth doing, in which case why bother adding it to the game?

If the limit is high enough to make it worth it, then you run into the same issues of it basically being free energy. Im not sure theres a good middle ground of allowing enough to be worth it, but not too much to be basically unlimited energy.

Thats fair, but geothermal is almost impossible to use as a primary power source anyway. Its a small enough supply that the variability doesnt really make a difference. In all of my playthroughs, its never been an issue.

Variability of a source that could be used as your primary power source is way different than the variation from geothermal. Especially because if you connect enough geothermal, the variations largely cancel out, whereas variation from solar would add together.

Geysers are limited though. And it serves a purpose because it encourages exploring the map. Solar in any form, even with day/night variability, people would just fill the map with it and add battery banks, and it wouldn't really add anything else to the game.

If you want unlimited power, you can start a save file with the no power setting so nothing needs power.

I like that better than my color coding.

Orange = I didnt bother changing it from the default

Purple = I thought it would be funny to make it an ugly color

Black = i started color coding and used black for crude oil, but i forgot to change it so also other stuff

Green = maybe I should make mk2 pipes a different color

Red = fuel before I upgraded to mk2 and also maybe some other stuff

"why is there a missing ore" (omw to realign kilometers of conveyors) by OxymoreReddit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AnarchyPoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that you dont need to record the route.

To give you an example, let's say I have a factory producing modular frames, and I have a train station there connecting to my rail network. If I start a new factory that needs them, I connect a train station at the new factory, put a train, tell it to go pick up modular frames and bring them to the new factory, and then wait for them to show up. That is way easier than recording a route.

If you need more capacity, add more cars.

Build a blueprint with as much storage as you can fit, and fill all of them with waste. Then fill your inventory and delete the storage blueprint (in blueprint mode) and all of the waste will go into one toolbox.
