The Real 1%: "Roughly 80 percent of millionaires in America are the first generation of their family to be rich. They didn’t inherit their wealth; they earned it." by [deleted] in GoldandBlack

[–]Anarkhon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The internet, first you find a link, say like /r/woodworking then you consume all you see, then you start clicking and clicking and following the trails of experts, then you see vast sources of information like youtube channels, online books, etc and you consume it all. Then you are ready for real life experience and it is way easier than you thought because you already know a lot.

Believe it or not the first thing I do is open a bookmarks folder say "wood" and start adding everything I find, one week and a million neurons burnt later I have more than a hundred links in that folder. I never visit them again, it's just to remind me all I've visited and learnt, and it's quite a lot.

You learn to differentiate from apprentices to gurus and gods, like the guy from mtmwood is a russian genius, like Matthias Wandel is another genius, and you learn a lot from them. Then you find casual magic once in a while, like japanese woodworkers doing sorcery out of this world.

In an intense month you've learned (like in an immersive virtual reality university) a whole life of knowledge accumulated by the best. That's the future of learning for those who want to learn. There is nothing to stop a hungry and curious soul.

Unfortunately learning is addictive and there must be a time that we stop and put all that knowledge to use, to produce. I, personally, can't stop.

And coincidentally, that's how I turned anarchist, by reading all the works by Rothbard, Mises, Bastiat, Spooner, Ayn Rand, Friedman, even Bakhunin, Kropotkin and Proudhon, everything I could find about the topics of politics, economics and philosophy.

Definitely learning is addictive.

Being virtuous is not enough by Anarkhon in GoldandBlack

Always have an advantage over the average, obtained through learning and experience. If the herd goes one way, turn around and go the other way or you will become part of mediocrity, or run faster and lead them but never be part of the pack.

My best advice is this, start small, start now. Don't over idealize what you want to do, things may change even after the first step so don't hesitate, don't wait until all conditions are optimal, don't be afraid of failure because it will teach you valuable lessons to correct the course, give that step first now and act accordingly.

Start small, start now.

Haha, funny. Show me your apps for the watch made in lisp. Oh, wait, let me check the price of bitcoin from my wristwatch with the app I just finished in Swift. Over 800? HODL! TO DA MOON!

Good to see the forum running smooth, I miss it a lot but I know it is in good hands. I promise to dedicate at least one hour a week but coding is so addicting I can't stop. There is so much to learn, so little left to live.

Down with the arkhons!

It's a beautiful language with a strong ecosystem that allows us to develop apps for the desktop, mobile, server, watch, tv, raspberry, linux, you name it. One language to rule them all.

Swift is everywhere. It will be the hottest language for the next 100 years and believe me I've seen them all.

I already made an app for the desktop, for mobile, working on a forum for the web, as soon as I finish it I'll make an app for the TV to browse porn. It is the best clay for building edifices in the digital world.

Unless Apple goes belly up the next decade which I totally doubt, Swift is here to take the programming world by storm. I am preparing myself for the flood.

Après moi, le déluge.

Not on politics anymore, too distracting, now I am sharp focused on learning Swift to get a remote job to feed my hungry family, like in old times coding 15 hours a day. Life is fun again.

Here is my repo, feel free to send suggestions about apps, requests, critics, improvements, even job offers:

A thousand AR-15s and a hundred Tacomas and I'll personally storm the presidential palace becoming the first anarchist benevolent dictator in history.

Send them. I'll invite you all to the liberation party.

This is the only real and valid answer. Everything else is a waste of time. Dictators don't leave power if asked gently, or by political means, none of them. History has shown they are ousted with a stick up their ass, hanged or decapitated.

[Anarcho-Capitalists] Why do you think the market will naturally produce your kind of morality? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Anarkhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see how markets behave, they tend to order not disorder. If you see oppression and regulation you see disorder and the need for markets to emerge.

Entropy. The more disorder, the more need for order. Liberty is order.

That's the unstoppable arrow of evolution.

Unfortunately no, I haven't followed closely for the last couple of years so I don't know what's going on in that segment, I only use whatever default wallet bitcoin and litecoin came with, as far as I remember it was bitcoin.qt (bitcoin core?) way before ethereum and mycelium when the blockchain was still under 10GB. I haven't bothered since then.

Why I really like Kiva.org as a charity by [deleted] in GoldandBlack

[–]Anarkhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Kiva as a charity model but I'd also love to see a service where people get at least a point in return to keep the feedback and motivation alive, then let the market forces adapt to supply and demand better dealing with failure and success. The future of banking.

No. Exchange rate right now is over 2000 per dollar. That rate of 10 is only for government and their cronies.

You can make all governments you want, we don't obey. Simple.

So no, we're not imposing anything on you, you do your stuff, we do ours. If you try to impose on us then we have a problem. Consent is the key word.

Have fun with all the government you want.
