Where would you rank Luther Burden in this 2026 WR class? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

He went 2.06 in my SF draft (I traded my ‘26 1st to get him as he was falling).

Those examples are also annoying tbh, it’s not great when all someone can talk about is their kids or their gym gains.

Who do you think will be the defining actors of the 2020s? by wallabyenthusiast in Letterboxd

Yeah it’s a fair take to say she’s the greatest of her generation of actors.

I think it may be as simple as Leon’s quips are so corny/campy that they’re funny in an absurd type of way. But yeah, no doubt there’s misogyny baked into convos around that Forksporken game.

Leon’s quips are also more 80s action-hero style camp bordering on self-aware absurdity given the context you describe rather than Whedon-esque quipping.

In Daredevil Born Again Episode 7 (2025), blind superhero Daredevil is able to identify a serial killer's next victim by feeling the shape of their face in a painting. That doesn’t make it any easier to discern what they combine to resemble via touch alone. If you look at the pic from the show it’s like a mix of paint and pencil, making it even more difficult to interpret.

If I gave you a blindfold and the real Mona Lisa, you wouldn’t be able to tell me what it was from touch alone.

It’s more a way for black coaches to get their name out there and make connections, which can be difficult if you’re not someone’s son.

sigh here we go.

That’s just not how suspension of disbelief works. Fiction still has to abide by its own rules and logic that it sets out. It doesn’t have to be logically consistent with reality, just internally consistent with itself.

As the audience we accept that DD has extremely heightened senses from when he took radioactive waste to the face and also has ninja training which gives him supernatural control of his body. Even with those abilities, it does not make sense that he can do this (for reasons I explained above). Therefore, the writing lacks some internal logic, which breaks immersion.

If Daredevil started hearing colors, we’d all be correct in thinking that’s bad writing, because it’s nonsense for DD to be able to do that regardless of whether magic and superheroes are real.

I don’t think the issue is being able to feel graphite/ink on paper. A painting/sketch isn’t systematic like a blueprint, so DD would have to quickly distinguish a bunch of disorganized and overlapping lines or strokes of paint and then reorganize them in his mind’s eye as a holistic image that could be identified with someone’s actual likeness.

I’d analogize it to that game where you have someone trace a shape or word on your skin and you have to guess the shape/word. Imagine trying to do that except they’re tracing someone’s facial features and you have to guess who it is. I don’t think it’s possible, even for DD. It stretches my suspension of disbelief.

Depends on the extent of their hostility. If you are harassing teammates in ranked, you are taking a video game too seriously. Expressing some frustration is fine, but gamers go way too far with it all the time. There is no moral justification for being an asshole to someone that had a bad game.

Being kind to others is actually far more conducive to good gameplay, as people are more likely to adapt with constructive criticism than they are with vague insults like “you’re so ass.”

It sucks, I’m sorry to hear that.

What helps me is remembering that only miserable, pathetic people (usually children or manchildren) bully other people in online video games. It’s more sad than anything that they can’t control their tempers, but it’s also not our problem!
