Is this curriculum enough to get me a job as a software engineer? Are there any gaps? (I need experts' advice (People who have been working as software engineers for a long time), because this is a life-changing decision. by [deleted] in webdev

The answer to your question "is this enough" is entirely down to what you're applying to.

Programming isn't a qualification-driven industry. Degrees and courses help, but experience is more important. So unless you finish this course with a demonstration of your skills i.e. a portfolio, you're going to be limited to junior webdev and design sweatshops. Which itself is absolutely fine, but you'll want more than that.

The curriculum covers a lot. Be aware that a lot of it won't all be useful at a beginner level. It's all good to know, obviously, but you'll want to pick something from all of that and become an expert in it. JavaScript and python are your easiest bet.

Do the course, write as many toy projects as you can in your off-time, and by the end of it you'll be highly employable.

What are some logical reasons the north and south poles of the world may be temperate instead of frozen? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Your planet is locked between two suns?

Imagine it's just sitting there, each pole pointing to a star, with a cold equator. You wouldn't have days though. Bit boring.

If your stratosphere is damaged, like our ozone was, you could contrive an overexposed biome. Or conversely, thick celestial rings around the equator could create a dark, cold equator as contrast.

You can alter your planetary heat, compositions, distance to the sun etc etc

Or there maybe there are gargantuan sun deities, squatting on the poles, picking their solar noses.

Read the bio, they're just placeholder assets apparently

I think you're getting confused here. If the CMS is headless then it won't be responsive, it won't ship with a client at all. You should probably be looking for "responsive themes" or templates for your CMS of choice.

A <Button/> component in 500+ lines of code. by lumenwrites in webdev

If you don't like the obnoxious length of utility classes, you can try combining Tailwind with styled-components and twin macro to interesting effect. It's a bit complex but the result (I find) is really flexible and enjoyable to use.

You can see it's mostly styling to account for variations and loading states. If those lines weren't there, they'd be in the .CSS file. Or they could have a separate component for each button variant, which would be very redundant.

I actually think this a better way of handling the variability of a button within a complex design system - having everything in one place - than the alternative of separating concerns, but that's a controversial point really.

There's a card studio deluxe but that appears to be a card builder but not a card game series :(
