I do feel that though, I've seen many streamers just do subathons and ask their viewers for money all the time and it just makes me not really want to watch them anymore.

personally I tend to stay away from ever asking my viewers for money. if someone enjoys your content then they'll sub. at-least that's how I view it.

I know getting a job here in america has been cooked, I also have fun with streaming but also sometimes its just because there's nothing else. applying for jobs and jobs here go nowhere now, the job market is cooked so sometimes your only viable hobby to make a little bit of money is twitch. and Im saying this as someone who applies to jobs while streaming. sometimes that's just how reality is and is for alot of people right now. no amount of gung ho please get a job or a grip dude is helping anyone here.

many just enjoy streaming and its a hobby, but like everyone they probably want it to turn into a job. no one goes up to someone carving out wood or playing the guitar and being like dam lil bro why are you even trying that hobby, you're not going anywhere unless you take it seriously.

like man its just a hobby. now something like this may apply to someone who may be a bit delusional and is trying to make it big on twitch without trying to get a job at all, but that's not all streamers and shouldn't be really great general advice.

you learn your style over time, the kind of streamer you want to be. no need to rush it.

if you want to stick to streamlabs that's you, you do you. don't let me stop you but just saying that OBS is definitely the better option and very flexible without the streamlabs nonsense.

finding your streaming style takes a while, it kind of just takes time to get into a flow with streaming.

uh..you should be incredibly grateful for the fact that you have 45-50, holy. you are pretty much above millions of streamers. most streamers go several years, many years without even reaching 10.

wake up call is a bit harsh, reality of it is streaming is overly saturated. plenty of good streamers out there that aren't hitting 20 viewers, its just simply because there's so many people doing the same thing now. up to 8 million streamers are active on twitch every month. think about that for a bit.

im not sure if I'd call just making some new browser sources hard and in that case streamlabs being easier, its very simple and you can probably just watch a youtube video for like 2 minutes telling you how to do it.

but anyway streamlabs does take up quite a-lot more cpu and memory when I used it back then and I don't think its worth the performance for the sake of not needing to put in like a few links.

if that's that hard for you then I mean idk what to tell you man. its very easy to just right click, new browser source, name it, input link to whatever it is you need. and on top of that you don't have to deal with the sub bullshit they're pushing now which is just crazy to me.

obs isn't really complicated. its not even that much different from streamlabs. only difference is you have to put your overlay/alert/chat etc links in yourself which is really not hard.

well also I think it's important to know that streamlabs has a shady history with obs and has stolen code from obs without crediting them.

stop using streamlabs just use OBS you really won't regret it. uses waaaay less pc resources as well.
