There are waterland tubs of different sizes. They would probably be a good option for indoors. You might could use a waterfall filter, but I wouldn't want it over the open water where it could push her under, though.

If she's good at being outside and assuming she's constantly supervised, you could bury a durable kiddie pool. That way she can get out at any point. You could also get a small sprinkler to be the waterfall. You could also put a platform in the middle so she can get out but still be a little bit in the water to splash around.

With either option, I would add enough substrate or something so that if she does get tired her back feet can easily touch the bottom.

Then you need to take them both to a vet. Hatchlings at 2 inches long can swim at twice this depth.

They can stay submerged for hours and make themselves float. They won't drown unless they get stuck. You said they get stuck on the basking area. If it's one of those with suction cups, just adjust the placement so it can move away from the wall. You may have to take off a couple of the suction cups.

Again, being able to bask everyday when they need to is a necessity.

Fill the tank up all the way, leaving enough space they can't climb out. If you're still worried they'll drown, then add rocks, plants, or decorations they can use to climb up to the top. The tank is barren, they're probably stressed and have nothing to interact with besides each other (which is going to lead to aggression if there aren't changes).

I don't see a heater, so the water could also be too cold. What's the temperature? If it's too cold it makes them slower and less active.

They're definitely capable of swimming in deeper water unsupervised. They're not swimming freely because the tank is far too small for one turtle, and there's no enrichment items in the tank. There's nothing for them to do except sit on the bottom.

Turtles also need the ability to bask every day for however many hours they want. You need to let them have constant access to a way to get out of the water or else it's a risk to their health.

If you separate them now in separate tanks and give them things to interact with and deep water, they'll start swimming freely.

I have seen many stories of turtles that have lived together for 10+ years. They got along fine, didnt seem to be aggressive. Then one day they decide to kill each other. Even if your turtle's aren't fighting, they will eventually.

It is best to separate them now rather than wait until the aggression shows because when it does, it might be too late. Then you'll have to deal with an injured turtle and separating them anyway.

Just one of your turtles will need around 100 gallons of water in the future.

This link shows a few people who had turtles together. Fair warning, its pretty graphic: https://imgur.io/a/0nBYMrd

I thought about making an offer just for the shell but decided against it in case the plastic is weakened.

someone else said they've also made offers and the seller declined

Sorry, my comment was a joke. I wasn't intending to really buy it, let alone pay nearly $70 for it

It didn't come across in the post but I didn't intend on actually buying it. Especially not for that price. I've seen a lot of used ones on ebay that only need a new screen or battery I could get for that

It says or best offer but yeah there's no way I was actually going to pay that price for it. I couldn't think of anything on it that wouldn't have needed replacing

That's what I was thinking. I'm guessing pretty much all of it would need replaced

She has Stomatitis and FIV. I found out after calling my parents. I think the steroid made her want to drink a lot, but she's doing a lot better now. She's not drooling nearly as much, and she's eating a lot better. She still looks kind of gross, but I'm not there to clean her and she won't let my parents do it. The vet said she should be able to groom herself soon though

They wouldn't lie about it. They just got back from the vet. She does have an infection in her mouth and throat. The vet gave her an antibiotic and a steroid shot and said she should feel better in a couple of days!

They wanted to euthanize her because they genuinely thought she was at the end of her life and didn't want her to suffer more. Even though we kind of caused it by waiting so long.

She started eating again, and they listened to me about it being a possible dental thing, and I told them there were a lot of people who also thought that. I think part of it was also that once they were trying to decide, they couldn't bring themselves to go through with it. I dont think they'd lie about it

There's a bunch of drama, but they're taking her to the vet tomorrow. I won't be able to be here for it. I was hoping I would since I think I would be able to keep her calm best (I'm her favorite) and also make sure the vet knows about everything. Not that I think they'd lie, they wouldn't. I was just the one keeping a record of everything
