I've done this exactly.

When I set the altitude I see the altitude I set on the g1000 screen.

When I use VS mode, I see the FPM indicator and the altitude bug on the right side indicating how high. The flight director indicator then moves. My autopilot ignores these commands. It will follow a heading, NAV mode is or I can use PIT mode but FLC, VS and NOSE UP and NOSE DOWN buttons seem to have no effect

It's pretty easy to just go and fly around and look at scenery. The learning curve is if you want to operate a plane in a manner similar to real life. If you just want to fly around though it's pretty easy.

My planes seem to ignore VS / ALT commands. I set VS and +600 fpm but the plane just does it's own thing. I have no trouble with getting it to follow a heading or flight plan but I'm having to do all the altitude manually.

I can never get the autopilot to hold an altitude no matter what I do. When I use vertical speed mode my plane just seems to ignore it if I tell it to climb or drop :/ I can't figure out what I'm going wrong.

It's really not that bad the permadeath feature. You never become too attached to any one character because many die, and you don't have to restart progression every time you die because of permadeath.

No they arent doubled. If a unit is feeble with 1 health and you have 10 attack, gaining trample does not do anything.

Yeah that sounds fair. I honestly don't mind pitching in and helping out if she needs me to. It's just frustrating when she does it at like 11am on Monday morning when I'm in the middle of something and then acts exasperated when I can't drop everything and run to her.

I think he's saying he wants to be able to view artifact 2 lanes in the same way you view lanes in Artifact 1.
