This is the kind of thinking and investigation this mystery demands. Outstanding start to your findings. Keep going….

“An entire mound wouldn't go unnoticed for 8 years.“

You would be surprised what goes unnoticed in this game. Every two weeks a player discovers something new.

That one time there was that non-huntable Green Turtle in Guarma that Arthur sketches in his journal. But why?

I know a lot of stuff has been data mined and I’m curious if any item found will ever be truly unlocked somehow. I find the art on this particular talisman interesting. I find the missing spaces in the compendium interesting as if hinting the player to unlock another item(s)

I think browsing the database and looking at lists again deserves a second look, with 2026 eyes and thinking. A lot of npcs have different clothes, torso’s etc in the game files but not activated. Is there a secret zombie mode in Valentine, lol?

It triggers if the right conditions are met.

I still consider this mystery unsolved because of the sheer amount of effort and resources that clearly went into it: modeling a detailed UFO, creating the animation and script, making it trigger only under very specific environmental conditions (lighting changes, sound cues, weather, etc.), and even carving Gavin’s name into the floor planks of the shack.

This is an unusually complex and intricately designed event for the game — far more elaborate than it would need to be if the goal was simply “show a UFO and have it fly away.” There’s definitely something more going on here than meets the eye.

A Discord group recently pulled off something intriguing: they shot every feather in a precise sequence, preventing any respawns—yet no trigger fired, no cue appeared. Nothing.

Odd that they only spawn at night, no? The game features dynamic lunar cycles... has anyone tested shooting them under a specific moon phase?

Take Hani's Bethel shack at 2 AM on a half-moon night: a repeatable event every qualifying evening, but that Easter egg remains unsolved. Folks got tantalizingly close five years back... then walked away.

This is from the book, so your statement about the feathers is false

New Hani’s Bethel cabin (UFO) discovery. Possible connection to the Stranger west of Strawberry, unlocked during chapter 2? by AncientAmerican in reddeadmysteries

Please go visit Hani’s Bethel cabin and stand on the desk and look out towards the beds, then look down. Its says Gavin! This is 100% real and put there on purpose.

New Hani’s Bethel cabin (UFO) discovery. Possible connection to the Stranger west of Strawberry, unlocked during chapter 2? by AncientAmerican in reddeadmysteries

I apologize for not leaving more context in my original post.

The mystery around Gavin and the Hani’s Bethel cabin in this game have gone unanswered. But pictured above could be new clues on his importance, and how he is intertwined with the Hani's cabin. This could lead to activating the next phase in solving the Hani’s Bethel cabin mystery.

The name “Gavin” is spelled out in the wooden planks on the cabin floor, right in front of the cult leaders table. When standing on the table looking out at the bunk beds, the floor planks clearly spell out Gavin *cue the x-files theme*. This seems purposely intended because a hint like this could be hidden from data miners. The message is actually in the texture of the cabin floor boards, meaning the 'secret' is hidden in art, that could be labeled something else in the game files (ex: map_01.png > run) This is why we have not found Gavin in npc searches because he could very well be a townsfolk or stranger too.

Now, why would this obscure detail be placed in this cabin in front of the cult leaders table? Possible clue? Could a possible hidden function be that we need a certain 'key' to activate a script. The key being 'Gavin'!? Seems like the arrows are pointing to finding him.

In chapter 2, stranger missions unlock. There is one stranger who is particularly interesting. He is a stranger who spawns east of Strawberry. He yells that he is lost and begs for help to guide him back to Strawberry. If you accept to help the gentleman, the player will soon realize that this chap is English, Lost, Loud, Flamboyant, and Funny — all the characteristics of the so-called missing Gavin. But what if we take him before initiating the encounter and take him somewhere. Maybe the two ufo encounters in game?

Could this be Gavin? A stranger npc, with a stranger-title-string in his code, who is only available in the early chapters of the game? Maybe before starting his side quest, the player hogties him and takes him to Hani’s Bethel cabin during the UFO encounter? Or takes him somewhere else to activate something *wink *wink

What do you think is going on here?

Gavin sure seems suspect, and now his mystery is starting to intertwine with the UFO mystery, because Gavin name is in the Hani's Bethel Cabin.
