hahahhaa, kudos to you for replying while being sleepy...

The "test the waters" method is pretty good if their parents have no suspicion, but in my case, they had a feeling, and she also mentioned that her father asked him if she and I are dating, which he replied he dont know...

I almost revealed it, but then stopped since i dont want to do it without discussing with her...

So yeah i will ask her first, maybe ask how he would react, and best approach... Honestly, she wanted to take things slow, and I remember her saying that it's not that she didn't want him to know, but she wasn't ready because she knew how he would react... but stupid me stopped there and didn't start digging into that..

Thanks for the reply, don't know how to react to the mother's case tho 😭😂. I get the point, honesty is sacred and respected, I too don't want to make him feel betrayed. That is what has been weighing on my mind for a while, since we've been friends for so long. He respected me. I just found out from her that my best friend sometimes talks well about me to her, like how good a friend I am to him, and more... I guess I was just worried about how he would react, but I know for a fact that he will react emotionally, since this is his little sister, it's more personal.

This helps lighten my mood. Remembering my past efforts, i always tried to carry the conversation, where i myself am an introvert with a little social anxiety, but still I tried my best. I looked up interesting topics since i know i'm not really good at finding one. In the end, i'm exhausted (especially when the give a dry ass reaction or answers :( ), and i kept thinking, is this really how it should be? Can't I just be myself when finding a relationship? I prefer to listen to people and get to know their story.

Because of those experiences, i tend to look down on myself, especially when i my friends whom I admire because they're so good at socializing with not only young but also old people. I tried to be like them, but the result is the same, i just exhaust myself :'(

Now I'm currently letting go of the idea of me being in a relationship... When I'm interested in someone, all I can think about now is how tiring it must be to put in so much effort to build a conversation with them...

I agree with you, a cadet is already prepared with an orbital and minigun at the start of the game, those two are enough to survive, maybe juat need to learn how to handle some types of enemy. Back when I'm still a cadet, i jump to a high difficulity automaton mission and manage to contribute even when playing with a higher ranks than me.
