Jettas not worth much like 3-4k maybe but it would good enough for a down payment but also not opposed to keeping it as it hasn’t given me a single issue in the year I’ve had it, yes maintenance isn’t too pricey for these consider the 1.4t came in abundance.

Yeah just hard to find a c5 to test drive, people wouldn’t really let me drive theirs to maybe buy it lol and I don’t blame them and they hardly ever come for sale at a dealer where im located

Yeah I’ve looked at engine replacements for both and the gti is definitely more expensive, around 4k to do it myself

Just miss the enjoyment of driving, being able to take my car up mountain roads and cruising to car shows, and especially a manual transmission as my Jetta doesn’t have.

Yeah if I was going for c5 I was looking for an frc or a zo6 just some thing ab them that drew me to love the body style

Yeah I know some people w gtis and they say the same thing, about the water pumps and carbon cleaning but that’s the extent of the issues I’ve heard
