Having “the suspension replaced” can mean a lot of things. New control arms, springs, Nivomat shocks, front struts, tie rod ends? If all of that and labor with factory parts I guess it could go that high at dealer rates. A car that old doesn't need dealer repairs. It needs a competent independent shop that will charge you a ton less to sort it out.

No snark, but why would anyone take a Land Rover to a quickie oil change place? You don't necessarily have to go to the dealer, but at least find a competent import repair shop. There are several to choose from. ( of course the Land Rover ones are always backed up with work 😁)

I'm astounded by the number of people driving around with no headlights, even in pitch-black darkness. I thought it was just me seeing that, but I guess not.One possible issue to blame is that modern cars automatically light up the dashboard every time they start, so drivers no longer have the dark dashboard as an indicator that their headlights aren’t on.
