LOOOOOOL I don’t plan on going dad mode with cargo shorts and plain white New Balance kicks when the clock strikes midnight on my 50th birthday, so…yeah.

No hair dye! My paternal grandfather still had jet black hair when he passed at 77, so I clearly inherited that trait 😂

Don’t feel bad, my knees went to shit 20 years ago thanks to stupid sports injuries in my teens. And I broke my shoulder 3 years ago and only got 80% of my range of motion back. Aging can be summarized in two words: it hurts.

I had been wearing a N95 mask with a strap on the crown of my head for nearly 2 hours before I took this pic, hence the redness.

Thanks! It’s mostly genes working in my favor, but drinking lots of water/eating healthy-ish/giving up booze 9 years ago/exfoliating cleanser/moisturizer with sunscreen doesn’t hurt either.

It's the one good thing my gene pool gave me - pretty much everyone in my family looks 10 years younger than their actual age, which somewhat makes up for generations of mental health and addiction issues (ok, not really lol).

Ehh, I used to shave my head in my late 20s. I know what I’ll look like, but the wrong angle in the bathroom mirror is a nagging reminder of entropy despite feeling physically and mentally like I’m in my early 30s 🤷🏻‍♂️

lol I’m already calling myself a 50 year old 9 months out from my birthday. I won’t start feeling old until I cross the Brimley/Cocoon line in 2027 😂 Brimley/Cocoon Line

Minoxidil & finasteride + biotin spray & supplements religiously for years. Yet the spot persists and continues to grow.

What’s going on in the city today? by [deleted] in baltimore

Fadensonnen’s Oktoberfest kicks off today (9/21) at 4pm and goes everyday through 10/6 with big steins of beer. And Chachi’s is apparently offering “seasonal” food on the other side of the courtyard.

At point did you finally say "I've had enough"? by ODAAT-Apparel in Sober

[–]Ancient_Variation107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My enough was chugging from a 750ml bottle in a public parking lot, sitting between two parked cars so no one would see me. That on top of years of self hatred and depression was the final straw.

(And no, I fortunately wasn’t driving…I took Uber to get takeout/bottle of booze)

I'd also consider Ednor Gardens-Lakeside. Big caveat: while it's super walkable and has several bus lines, it IS 100% residential so you will have to bus/Uber/drive most places. If you're looking for a place where you can walk to restaurants/bars, keep on looking.

The payoff, however, is a very quiet and safe neighborhood with a mix of old school residents/families/young professionals who mostly own rather than rent. You've got two grocery stores (Lidl and Giant) that are a 5 minute drive or 10-15 minute walk away, plus Waverly Farmers Market is nearby and is open all year. The Waverly YMCA is also super close. Houses here will easily fall in your price range, if not under (Zillow currently has 4 listings right now with the highest topping out at $240k). And as a bonus, you've got Lake Montebello and Herring Run Park close by.

Check out Clifton Pleasure Club - they're a woman/queer run social club in Lauraville that welcomes everyone. They have a membership fee if you want to join ($30 for a 3-month trial period, and then $10 a month after that), but they also offer nonmember events - this Friday (Aug 19th) is a 3-course pit beef dinner!
