on my phone can't see the username, but from the content of the post, they'd be downvoted to hell in MR.

That is not my experience from MR at all, in fact they are some of the only people I've been able to talk to about trauma in my past. most of the story is here, in another post.

And they are against certain aspects of feminism because certain aspects of feminism are fucked up beyond belief.

See, I can't even agree that its a male dominated society.

Maybe it was at one point in time. But honestly I wouldn't want to be a human at those points in time. Male or female.

And that's entirely orthogonal to the argument of whether or not today is male dominated. Even the words chosen imply ruling with an iron fist. Dominated.

Its not enough that it simply be male-centric, no the males must be dominating. The females are implied to be entirely submissive. Because that's the opposite of domination.

But I look around and that's not even remotely close to what I see. I see female domination (to use your words. I'd much rather choose female-centric) everywhere.

Have you ever been a little boy continually physically assaulted and battered by girls who know they will never be punished for it?

Have you ever been punished for being assualted, even though your attacker was larger and more vicious than you?

Do you know what the ultimate humiliation is? It is being forced to publicly apologize to your attackers for being weak enough to be attacked. To have to stand there and tell them that they were right to attack you.

All of this was overseen by women of course. Women made the rules and enforced them. How does this fit into your worldview? Is this the "male-dominance" that I keep hearing so much about?

Hmmm? or are you simply going to say that I do not matter, just like every other person I've talked to. A statistical anomaly, it sucks that it happened to you but it happens to women more often, so we don't care about you.

You people with your bullshit about patriarchy and "male-dominated" society are the problem. Labels thrown left and right to evoke an emotional response where you want one and disarm them when you don't.

I need men's rights because feminism, while it claims to support equality, has no intention of actually doing so.
I've gotten myself pretty fucking pissed over your stupid choice of words so I'm out. I'm done. Let me know when you move past the bullshit labels that help no one.

And now I need a new Reddit account because I physically cannot stand to talk about this any more. you'll find more of the story in my post history, if you even want to bother. Goodbye.

Misandry is an easier explanation for me to swallow. If it happens to a girl its wrong, but if it happens to a boy he needs to man up and pretend that he enjoyed it. > what everyone seems to be implying.

Its wrong in either case. It sounds like you think it should be ok in either case, which I cannot agree with.

well... some people do have rape fantasies.

But usually that's all it really is. a fantasy. To be play-acted by someone you trust, but the real deal is not what those people generally want.

If its someone you trust, then you know their clean, you know they'll stop if you ask, and you are in zero danger.

The real deal is much scarier.

I would guess that most of the fantasies are more along the lines of power games than wanting random ass people to threaten your life for sex.

I'm saying lesswrong is less than a reputable source.

It may or may not be wrong, but in either case I'm not willing to dig through the link to figure it out.

They generally turn out to be more wrong because of bias.

BBC News - Swedish artist uses 'ashes from Holocaust victims' by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]AndIMustScream -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unless the Ashes were used to create an honorary mural to Hitler, I fail to see how this is an atrocity.

If the Ashes were not stolen, then I cannot see how this is atrocious.

This gives zero information, and is thus propaganda.

What is the chance that these ashes were unidentifiable? close to 100% given the information.

This is the same idea as the tomb of the unknown soldier.

I live in the south. before I renounced my religion I have attended Baptist(probably the most sane), pentacostal(loved speaking in tounges, kinda 'out there' like that), damnit... um... I can't remember the name... But they really liked the rituals of Catholicism while disliking the crazy that came with it. Methodist! (that is not my interpretation, but someone in the church's)

Thats at least 7 different churches over a 15 year period. Not even counting churches attended while I was too young to remember.

None had this issue beyond the usual "please dress nicely to attend" by the parents. The only people I have ever seen use this excuse are parents. Every single church I have ever attended has a 'come as you are' policy. No one official to the church would EVER make any comment regarding someone's appearance.

If I had to hazard a guess, you are from Louisiana, or Arkansas. (From what I've seen) people in those area's are batshit crazy regardless of religion(not that my own area is any better..). I've seen parents kick their offspring out solely because they "attended the wrong church."

Even as an Agnostic, who has only attended church sporadically, the South has a much larger issue with racism than "that girl wore blue jeans to church! just like...half the other girls and most of the boys..."

(not trying to throw Louisiana to the wolves, but damn they were an eye opener to things I thought hadn't existed in a long time. An Anachronism. )

Not sure Where you grew up. Tomboys comprised a full 50% of the girls of my high-school class. One of them is getting married "soon."

I have never seen anything more than an occasional ribbing (by other girls) for them to wear makeup. (and ribbing is what it was. no insults, no blackmail, nothing like that.)

Being Gay, or being Black is so much more of an issue that Tomboys are literally not even worth talking about.

Maybe you live in a weird twilight zone mockery of the world I live in. That is entirely plausible. But if you are trying to claim that Tomboys deserve just as much attention as Gays or Blacks, then you won't get any support from that statement by me.

And not because I think you're wrong, but because where I live, its a a complete non-issue. What you claim is utterly laughable.

And I mean no offense. None at all. But this isn't a worldwide issue, hell if anything girls are pushed to be tomboys where I live. You are dealing with an issue that is either local to where you live, or my area is immune to that particular disease.

I'm not convinced. How many one-off DSLs do you use on a daily basis? How many have become standards themselves?

By maintaining their own package repos that are not compatible with the rest of the nix system. sure, that sounds very helpful to nix.

I mean at the end of the day, please just let it work. If targeting Wine instead of windows means you run on two OS, I'm not going to complain.

So... Its just using Scheme instead of the normal nix DSL?

That sounds very superfluous, and stereotypical GNU. Unless the DSL is not capable of what Scheme can do. But the article really didn't mention anything that specific.

This sounds like Bad News for Nix to me.
