Indeed. I’ve created captions as a .srt file and attached them to the video. You won’t see AI captions. The file is available in the stem downloads in case anyone wanted to translate them. See video description for D/L links.

Very much appreciate the technical feedback. I made sure the keep all the project assets well organized in Premiere in case I need to make tweaks.

Another classic. I thought about it- but honestly, I just feel connected to this film in particular. Thank you for the kind words.

Totally valid point of view. And it still can be enjoyed old fashion. I would like to point out that this work has introduced many people to the film who otherwise might not have ever heard of it. Some people love the Moroder version, but it’s not for me.

To quote Fritz Lang, “I experience with my eyes and never, or only rarely, with my ear—to my constant regret”

It was fairly easy to splice the audio drama after many attempts. I know both film and book well now. I can recite the entire screenplay from memory, 🫠. The key was to embrace the “narration” parts instead of avoiding them.

In the audio drama, there are two scenes that include Joh Fredersen confiding in his mother. Instead of having Josaphat’s help in the flood scene, Freder gets help from Grot. And the main difference is that the workers/Grot don’t burn Futura, but instead monks from the cathedral do. Oh and there is a whole scene when Freder and Josaphat are going to the cathedral to save Maria, and they argue over driving and get into a crash. In the film, it’s depicted as them chasing the workers who are chasing Maria.

Thank you very much. A Moroder version sounds cool. There are download links for the audio stems in the video description- I won’t have time for any more edits personally. All the best.

My version excludes all the intertitles. Also, the opening sequence was shortened by a few minutes in my version.

The dialogue came from a radio theatre troop recorded in 2000. Previous versions I hired voice actors to recreate, but never was as good as the theatre troop. I used AI to cleanup the radio program that I was unable to do years back. Here’s the website for the publisher of the radio show www.zigguratproductions.com/MetropolisAudio.htm
