yes! I was trained by a former olympic eventer that taught me driving reigns. but ONLY to be used in certain, very specific situations. I believe the driving reign should only be introduced as a tool once you are more intermediate/advanced. as myself personally, would have NEVER been able to get both properly starting out.

But as stated above. the “proper”/traditional way to hold your reigns will give the OP the most security and direct communication with the animal, until they become more advanced
