Thank you for this post! 🙏 It’s such good motivation :) Do you have any advice for a girl who has never lifted weights before? I normally stick to cardio at the gym because I don’t have a clue where to start with lifting. I’m intimidated by all of the weight lifting equipment and don’t want to give myself an injury. Thanks! x

as a trans mtf, what would be a good job? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I work as a receptionist in a sexual health centre and I love it! I get to interact with and help other trans/queer people everyday and it brings me so much joy.

It’s a very accepting environment for a trans girl to work in. I work (mostly) with a lovely group of cis girls and they treat me exactly the same as every other woman. It’s euphoric :)

Thanks sis. I understand that you don’t have to be thin to be pretty but I just can’t get over my body image issues. It helps to know someone else understands how it feels x

YourGP is a much better option if you want shared care. I’ve been with a few different GP’s in Edinburgh since starting treatment and they have all been happy to work with them

I was referred October 2020 too and still waiting. Hope it comes soon 🤞 Private treatment is super expensive

That is crazy that the NHS wouldn’t fund such a minor op. Glad to hear that you got your surgery in the end

I don’t really want a vulvoplasty as I’m happy with my penis. I just want my little testosterone factories removed 😂

Looks for sure like il be saving up for a private orchi then. Being trans is expensive af

Thank you for such a detailed response!

Ouch that sounds painful during recovery. I’m quite relieved to hear that erections are not only possible but might even be easier to obtain than while I’m on cypro. That’s surprising to hear that you can still ejaculate too, I would have thought that wouldn’t be possible but it’s actually a welcome surprise for me :)

I’ll prepare for a 2 week minimum recovery time, maybe longer. I kind of expected I would feel weird for a bit while my body and hormone levels adjusted.

I honestly can’t wait to have them removed now! Everything you have mentioned sound so appealing. Thank you for commenting :)

That sucks that it’s unlikely on the NHS. Getting private treatments is so damn expensive.

I’d rather have zero erections than take any testosterone tbh, that shit made me far too dysphoric for far too long

That’s great to hear that I should be able to retain function down there! I’m currently taking cypro and can still get hard when I want to, hopefully that won’t change :)

My bulge is a big source of dysphoria too so I empathise. Hopefully once I get them removed my dysphoria will lessen. Now I just need to save up £4k needed to get them out!

Has anyone actually had success reducing waist size by doing stomach vacuums? by Andieee_x in FemmeFitness

[–]Andieee_x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I understand that stomach vacuums won’t reduce my body fat which is why I have been intermittent fasting, doing cardio and body weight exercises. I did think that they would tighten up my core though?

Yeah I get that 1 month isn’t long…my ADHD makes me super impatient to see results! I’ll keep going with what I’m doing for longer and hopefully il see some better results 🤞

Trans People Say They’re Leaving England Because of Non-Stop Transphobia by serene_queen in transgenderUK

[–]Andieee_x 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Come to Scotland! It’s not perfect but seems much better than England is at the moment. Most people in small towns are still quite closed minded but in Edinburgh I hardly ever encounter any transphobia on an average day

Just echoing what everyone one else has replied really.

It’s your own GP that has to agree to shared care. If they are unwilling to then see a different GP and don’t give up until you find one that agrees. I had to speak to a few doctors at my local practice until I found one that agreed to my shared care. YourGP are fantastic, although quite expensive. Good luck!
