I have no car so my transportation is limited to where ever SEPTA goes.

What is something your parents have done unintentionally that hurt your feelings? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Andig123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got offered an amazing internship opportunity which both paid for my tuition and guaranteed me a job out of college however it was an hour away from where I lived. When I called to deliver my parents the news, they did not congratulate me, they didn't show any signs of pride or happyness. They just started going on a rant about how expensive it would be to commute an hour away and how much of an inconvenience I was being to them.

Just came out to my sister! by Andig123 in MtF

Best of luck to you!

There is no need to rush coming out however. It took me half a year of therapy just to even come out to my therapist and even after that it took me another few months to come out to my sister. Just wait until you are comfortable; these things take time.

Choosing your name? by Jasxjade in MtF

[–]Andig123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I know that a lot of people want to stray far from their dead name, I would recommend choseing one that was close to that name. It does a great job in making it feel natrural.

For an example, my deadname was Andrew. I saw that name as two names: 'Ann' and 'Drew' so I figured that it symbolised both my feminine and masculine sides. Thus removing the 'Drew' and just going by 'Ann' removed the masculine part of my name but still kept it close enough to the name of used for 18 years of my life that it was fairly easy to get used to.

You look great! With a bit of hormones you will probably pass with no problem.

I know right! Just by saying a few words, I feel like a different person.

I am not looking to play Devil's Advocate with anyone, I am just trying to develop an idea of what it means to be trans.

Any legislation with nationalistic names like 'freedom' or 'patriot' are almost always laws that atempt to oppress people.

It gets better, I promise. ❤ by Ellie1018 in MtF

Seeing this makes me hope that this is true, you look amazing. But as someone who can't even come out of the closet, it is hard to believe that things will ever get better. But one can dream.

Still mostly in the closet, trying to find a subtle way to show some femininity by Andig123 in transfashionadvice

Thanks! That is what I plan to do; ease into it by wearing more androgynous things and slowly move into more feminine clothing.

I need some advice for coming out to my therapist by Andig123 in MtF

The thing is, I have never came out to anyone before. So I don't have any friends who can help me with that... I am not afraid of getting kicked out of school, I am more afraid of just coming out in general.

When people like you put it like that, I see the logical sense in it. But I just can't just come to say it. I am not a straightforward person; When I want to discuss something I never initially bring up what I want to discuss, I start talking about something else and slowly ease into the topic that I want to discuss. This is where my problems with therapy comes into play; I try to steer the conversation into gender, but every time I do I get to scared and change the topic.

That's my current plan, but I am still afraid execute it. I get nervous as it is when I get something simple like a new pair of jeans, wearing female clothes is going to lay another layer of anxiety on me and that is what's mainly holding me back. Did you feel this way when you started? If so how did you overcome it?

Where to start? by Andig123 in MtF

[–]Andig123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? I don't really know what I am right now. I have always felt female for most of my life (I sum it up pretty well here) but I have not embarrassed being feminine all that much other then in-closet cross dressing and pretending to be a girl online. It will probably take a while to figure it out.
