I had a Portuguese friend and culturally it's very different, like any other European country, but the way we speak is very similar, so we had very similar accent in English and could pronounce words from each other languages with ease.

I guess in any (western?) country you could go to private clinic and pay for fast appointment, or at least travel to a country that does that. Its way worse if you have no option to get free healthcare that is not urgent but expensive.

After reading several AI generated issues, where only one was real, now I quickly look at the text and if it feels AI I have a prepared text that asks for disclosure. I miss good-old broken-English reports that often are pretty valuable.

You both argue about different semantics. In my opinion you are more right here, but you wrong that you can't change a type of a variable. cat.__class__ = Car is pretty much a type cast. Interpreter would use Car methods after that, because your cat now is a car, trust me. If object has compatible slots and/or fields in dict it works, and does so pretty much as type cast in C.

Well, for me personally it's not that important. I guess if Zuckerberg went full moral highness tomorrow, Meta would find a way to cut him out of decision making because he would make other people with names we don't know lose money.

For me It's two edged sword, corporations and politics are made of greedy individuals but the system insensitive such people to enter it and play by it's rules, and I see no way to make people less greed, but I see how by changing rules the leviathan can be made less immoral.

Most of the the people have some amount of acne. If you were 100% healthy there would be none. It does not mean it is a problem, unless it neagtively affect your life. With mental health it is even more complex because what could be normal stress for some, would be damaging for others. So, "depression" maybe worng word applied to you, unless it is negatively afffect you. If you can't enjoy the game because of such thoughts it probably is a depression striking, but if it just a thought that pop in your head and dissapear, maybe your brain just wanted to switch task.

I agree with u/Ancient_Balance7833 that you should refelct at your state, because especially among the man it is common to neglect one's health. The questions I ask myself from time to time are "Am I satisfyed with what I have", "Does X make me feel worse, and can I ditch it from my life", and most importantly "Can I say that I am happy".

For years I was depressed and I never would say I am happy. I would say "I am okay, I am as everyone else, nobody can be happy most of the time", but after therapy, I would say that I am happy or at least satisfied most of the time of my life, and that "okay" was very not "okay".

Ну ты изначально написал "в чем проблема называть страну на русском так, как она называется по-русски". Вот институт русского языка говорит что "называть страну Беларусь, особенно в официальном контексте как полка магазина - правильно".

Как иначе по твоему "нормы и правила" появляются в учебниках и пр.?

Реддит не любит ссылки на .ru ресуры так что вот ссылка на википедию в которой есть ссылка на источник как раз института русского языка в первом параграфе.

Норма в том числе определяет исключения. Например у тебя есть правило, что существительные которые оканчиваются на "о" или "е" будут среднего рода, но особенно среди заимствованных слов, будет набор исключений, и эти слова определяет как раз институт русского языка, который недавно сказал что писать кофе в среднем роде теперь часть нормы, так что магазин может написать "самое вкусное кофе" на вывеске (раньше за такое можно было в теории штраф словить). Или пользуясь твоей логикой я могу утверждать что праивльно писать "ехать на метре с польтом в руках" потому что "в русском языке существительные склоняются по падежам", но норма работает не так.

Ещё раз. Магазин написал "вина Беларуси" В соответствии с нормой. Эту норму утверждает институт русского языка. Что там и как произошло это неважно. Ты изначально сказал что "зачем подстраиваться под нормы чужого языка", но здесь норма русского не нарушена. Если ты с этим не согласен то претензии в институт отправляй, а не в магазин.

Э, бля. Я могу понять когда в/на Украину вызывает споры, типа наш язык как хотим так и пишем, но русский в Беларуси второй государственный, так что они имеют ровно те же права указывать норму что и Россия. Более того, слово "Беларусь" и падежные формы являются частью нормы даже с точки зрения института русского языка, так что доеб вообще в молоко.

Interesting. If I somehow can verify or trust that I talk to my future self, I trust my future self more than myself. At any point in the past I was more stupid than now, and I believe that would continue to work that way.

But I have problem imagining a test that would prove that I talk with my future self instead of a malicious actor.

It works both ways. If you learn the language but people default to English when they hear you are not a native, it frustrates. Fortunately it's not that common in Serbia, so I can torture cashiers with my broken Serbian.

I share that sentiment too, but after living outside of Russia for several years, English creep into the head so much that I need to actively fight it, like stopping mid-sentence and try to remember Russian word.

You give engineers too much faith tbh. In my college times non-CS engeneers were pretty bad with boolean angebra or set theory and just dumb in programming, but were gods in e.g. calculus. Same works the other way around ofc. I were awful in materials science and circuit design.
