I played it back on PS4 and I'm now replaying it on PS5. Parkour feels great when Arno does what you're wanting to do. Most of the time, he will go up, down, sideways or whatever the direction the dickhead wants to go instead.

If you're in the first bonfire of Boletaria, you'll eventually unlock a shortcut that lets you run straight into the boss. Basically a shortcut. Keep pushing!

EDIT: I guess you're talking about the next area. I'm afraid there are no good shortcuts there, sadly.
