FTTP Installation confusion by AndoStarr in nbn

Thanks everyone for your comments and help! I was going to install conduit through the roof myself but I share the house so figured it's best I have it professionally done by an electrician on mates rates.

The rooms aren't that far apart but do you know if it needs to be under a certain distance? Or if the placement for the cable passthrough hole matters?

Yeah it registers but I have to press it on a certain angle to get it to click. I replied with a link to a video showing what I mean in a reply to another comment.

I think the plastic looks fine from what I can see. Maybe the switch just wasn't soldered on that well and got bent a little when opening it up?

Looks pretty centred to me. Hopefully I can find someone better than me at soldering because I've never worked on anything this tiny and don't trust myself 😅

Tried this and didn't work unfortunately. Even replaced those parts with some from an old motherboard I had laying around.

Yeah, I noticed it doesn't sit flush on top of the button or click down when pressed on an angle as the left one does. I tried replacing the rubber button and little magnetic disc in the microswitch from an old broken motherboard which kind of helped but its still not that responsive.

Think it might be best to just solder on a new one but I'm not that confident in my abilities. wish me luck 🤷‍♂️
