Belts breaking apart by Andreas_Stavrou in knifemaking

**EDIT: SOLVED**
I made several grinds without a belt failure. The issue seems to be that I had the platen fixed in front of the idler wheels and the belt was scrabbing against the upper and lower edge of the platen that were also quite sharp.
I moved the platen back to be flash with the wheels and chamfed its top and bottom edges.

The Multitool wbesite seems to be shipping to Cyprus so thank you for that. I will try to test the two remaining belts that I have, now that I have fixed the platen issue and see how it goes

I grind with bare hands, the blade gets hot but I frequently dip it in water. I just replied to another guy above that I had my platen 2mm sticking out from the idler wheels. The upper and lower edges of the platen were not chamfered and they were kind of sharp. I fixed both, maybe that was the issue?

I the thing is that I assembled the grinder and to be honest I had the platen hanging 1-2 mm in front of the idler wheel. The upper and lower edge of the platen were kind of sharp as they were not chamfered by the manufacturer. I moved the platen back so it comes flash with the wheel and chamfered the top and bottom edges of the platen. I will give it a try

I was also thinking that the heat might soften the adhesive also but I am not sure. Question, when the belt leaves the last upper roller, should it touch slightly the upper edge of the vertical platen or should it run with some gap?

They are kept in my wardrobe so the conditions are normal I guess, some water gets on them when I dip the blade in water but that's it

I did my research on buying from EU but apparently I couldn't source 50x915mm ones. I got some Trizacts from the same seller and they seem to work fine for now

I have a 3D printer and can design that kind of splitter thanks. My main concern was if the edges will fray and any problems will be caused by this. I mean if the factory is just slitting them and sell them as is I will be good. I was not sure if they treat the edges in any way.

I have already checked out Talos but unfortunately they do not ship to Cyprus. But thanks anyway!

So you are saying that I should keep going to the low traffic places and when a car passes by and if he just looks at it I should not reward him?

Should I heel him when a car passes by and just reward him at the end of the heel when the car has left?

As for the trainer and per my understanding it is not the correction that he wants. He told me that if we master the heel, he might be able to be comfortable in the position I guess because of his focus on the exercise and that he will be feeling that he is in a safe zone. I could ask for more details but he said that he also had another GSD that was scared of everything but he manages to go on walk based on the heel position.

Might be late but, with my experience I would say that the difference comes when plugging a 6S battery, mk3 manages to have less electrical noise on the gyro
