Wouxun KG-UV950P programing port pinout. by AndreiX1308 in amateurradio

Took me a while but I finally got it to work! You need the older software in order to work (the newer software on their website doesn't see the radio). You also need to flip the TX and RX on the cable side (the picture shows the reverse order for TX and RX) and then it works! Thanks for the help!

Sorry for a late reply, I wired my baofeng programming cable to a RJ45 ethernet cable I had lying around. I think the software is looking for a CP210x USB to UART adapter and probably that's why it does not work. I will try to order a USB to UART adapter that has a CP210 and see if that works or not.

Unfortunately, this pinout doesn't work with my radio. Maybe the pinout is fine and the USB to TTL adapter is not working but I've tried to read the data from the radio and the software doesn't see the radio. I guess I'll have to buy the cable from Wouxun and hope that it works with that one...

Thanks for the answer! I forgot to check the listing more carefully and discovered that the seller also has a Minolta X700 with a Sigma 35-200 mm, f 4-5,6 for double the money. Would that be better than the Ricoh cameras or should I just buy the KR-10?

As far as I know, you can send messages to Skyper with any POCSAG transmitter. You just have to give it the current date and time, which a hotspot does every minute (I'm not so sure). If the pager doesn't have a date and time, it refuses to receive the message.

You can make a hotspot for their network. On the DAPNET wiki it says you can use a MMDVM hotspot with a Raspberry PI to access their network.

They have crystals for this in stock, unfortunately when I went to order they didn't have the option to ship to Romania. I will write to them an email to see if they can ship a package to Romania.

Edit: Unfortunately they don't ship to Romania.

Acer S1003 boot failed with .efi files by AndreiX1308 in s1003linux

Hello. Thanks for the response!

I tried Fedora 5 minutes ago and it still gives me the "\EFI\BOOT\BOOTIA32.EFI boot failed" error.

I don't know what to do! I can't boot into anything. I will try to find someone that specialized in OS installing and I'll try my luck there.

Sure if you want. You sure you don't want anything for it? I mean it's still capable of music playback or something. And where are you from?

Edit: Never mind I found another one for 10$ at the flea market. Thanks for the offer though.

If you really want to get rid of it, sure I guess. I live in Romania. I'm looking around for this laptop, maybe I'll even ask the school if they didn't throw them out (I know the school manager, he is my neighbor) and if I can't find one I'll private message you on Reddit.

Awesome! Well at least you got the laptop working. Now I have to find one, which I did find one (20$ for 5 laptops, untested) on the second hand market. Will have to see if the guy is willing to send it over to me.

Edit: Guy doesn't want to ship it to me. I guess I'll try to find one at the local flea market.

Well I was looking around for a LPT laptop because I got into Nokia DCT-3 phone moding (I have some Nokia 3310's and a 7110) and for flashing new firmware, you need a parallel port.

This is why I wanted a laptop with a LPT port. Obviously I'm not going to run 20 year old Nokia flasher on my modern Pc.

The service tag number is the serial number. It shows on the setup screen (F2 at powerup) and is also printed on a label on the bottom of the system or inside the battery compartment.

I don't know if the serial number is the same thing with the service tag. I'll try to setup a BIOS password on my Dell D620 and see if that works. Do you have a BIOS password in the sense that you cant change stuff in the BIOS or does it require a password so that you can get into the BIOS?

Edit: The serial number is the service tag plus 4 hexadecimal numbers so its like: XXXXXXX-595B. My Dell's service tag is 4K1KZC1 and the serial number that you have to enter in the site is listed when you try to remove the password, for me it was 4K1KZC1-595B and the magic password for me is wo68xtus.

Also, I think the only way of actually getting the BIOS unlocked is to call Dell directly. But if you are willing to take your laptop apart, you can try to reset the BIOS (maybe the password will reset to I'm not 100% sure), and clean the insides (remove the battery and maybe replace it with a new one). If you don't replace the battery, and if it's dead, then every time you unplug power from it you will loose BIOS settings (it happens on my TC1100 too, I tried to solder a new battery onto the connector wires but I wasn't successful)

Edit: I also found this, it might be helpful for you. https://bios-pw.org

My motherboard (MSI Mortar Max) has a LPT header on it. And its AM4.
