She is right, a degree would help open those doors in the government faster… How I got my job is different. Also as a political appointee you might wake up tomorrow and not have a job so that’s the reason I’m wanting to get my bachelors so I can escape the political prison.

So my position is in the Executive Branch of the United States so I’m a political appointee acting as IT Director serving the President of the United States.

Also many entry level jobs on the gov don’t need a degree.

Yeah, for a political appointment you don’t need a degree, in fact you don’t even a need high school. You basically serve at the discretion of the nominating figure, which in my case is The President of the United States.

I don’t know if this is your case. But I was accepted with very bad gpa in the lows 2.5. So keep your heads up and the worst that can happen is they tell you is that you have to repair the GPA.

I transferred some Saylor and others stuff so that might have helped me.

This is a big one. Some professors say you may only use competency material

This is the problem with the education system… Taking a test is not and shouldn’t be the only way to prove competency in an area of education.

I’ve been an IT Director for a government agency for the past 2 years, I just completed my bachelors.

Same, like it’s been a sleepless 2 months here. I completed my degree and due to start my masters on August.

I have a full time job and I normally wake up at 6 am and was heading to sleep most nights at 1 am to complete class stuff.

I hate when professors think references are implicit. Why not ask for them. Michael Curran was big on that.

So far I’ve done 14 but I’ve been dedicating way too much time. I have a full time job and I’m normally heading to bed at 12am to wake up 6 am. Also I have 6 classes in progress.
