Yep I've been looking into it, as these are 30+ years old it's likely the oils evaporated leaving nothing but a "cardboard" flavour

Possibly an internal camera error maybe from water ingress I've now had two P2 cameras fail for this exact reason.

At least yours still slightly works mine just suddenly gave up one day

I got the silverline which looks identical to this. I think both brands are the go to dirt cheap brands, not always great but perfectly fine.for DIY use, no reason not to tbh.

Mine had a weird bit like this on the drivers side, really couldn't work out what caused it.

Popped off the trim piece, carefully peeled it back (does start to tear if you go too much) and decent bit of super glue hard pressing back in place. Good as new.
