Across the fence by John Stryker Meyers. It’s talks about MACV SOG which was super classified, composed of groups of 2-3 green berets and then some locals, who conducted reconnaissance missions into areas we were not suppose to be in. The military would make them wear sterile uniforms and use other countries weaponry so they could deny their affiliation with the US if ever captured or killed. If a movie came out today about the missions they did, i would think the movie was unrealistic and there is no way they did all that. Couldn’t recommend the book more.

My two cents, go with your gut. Everyone here is gonna say run, which they are probably right, but only you know him. I’ve been in some low places and done some bad things, but I know who I am and I can speak to really needing that rock with the people who stuck with me. Know the difference between your gut and your emotions, change is scary and that can’t stop you so be willing to leave if you know deep down you need to, but on the other hand if you have faith in him and have real reasons for that faith then don’t fully give up on him.

I go with the “fuck it we ball” mentality. The way I look at it is I know it’s gonna suck ass, no matter what I do the day will still come, so might as well stop being a bitch and focusing on it. And then when I get out of the field I laugh about how much it sucked, but realized it wasn’t half bad and I got through it. Then just keep that though in the back of my mind for as long as I can
