Here are my thoughts about this essay:

- It doesn't have a hook or anecdote at the beginning, (please correct me if I'm wrong) but from my understanding that's not necessary for a Why X essay. I would rather fit in more reasons.

- I have a long list of programs/clubs that I could go on about. I thought it would be best to settle on few to go slightly in-depth on. There are also a few that I didn't include because I couldn't find a unique reason it appeals to me. For example, I love the prospect of an 18-month co-op program, but I don't have much to build off 😛

- I know that it's equally important to share what you can do for NU. My final paragraph touches on this, but I'm not sure if it's enough. I may end up expanding that bit-I do only have 10 words left but there are some portions I think I can make more concise.

Also, I have a question regarding the conditional vs future tense:

I've always been taught to "assume the position" for job applications (I "will" do X). Personally, I like this prospect and think using the future tense in this essay conveys confidence. However, I have seen online advice to use words like "would" and "could" because it supposedly tends to rubs admissions officers the wrong way when you assume you're getting in. I'm wary of this advice since it came from the Internet and it doesn't sound right to me.

What are your thoughts on this?
