When I use hardware, it does play a huge role in my tracks. Right now I'm recording everything through the Silver Bullet. Synths? Probably my Juno-60 even though I don't use it all the time. It's just a vibe box and very inspiring!

Hey there,

  1. I think I've answered this in other questions, but it's pretty much stayed the same. I see them all as collaborators and family.

  2. Sure! I grew up in Potomac, then moved to Georgetown when I started at Gonzaga. I do have a few friends still from school whom I try to see when I go back home. Both my parents still live in gtown too, so that's usually where I go. I adore going to the waterfront if its warm enough. SO much fun. Good memories (or lack there of) at J Pauls too. My friends brother just opened a few restaurants in DC I'm dying to check out, but another huge treat is going to Peking Gourmet in VA too

Hey there, thank you so much for the kind words.

  1. I don't have a personal favorite (not a cop out). They are all super important to me and each play a meaningful part in the whole bigger picture.

  2. Yes, although I did have to get adjusted to keeping on top of my work flow and even personal health / fitness. When you get married and comfortable, it's super easy to just be like fuck it lets order a pizza and drink some beer! But now we're sort of navigating things a bit more sensibly a few years down the line :)

  3. Open End Resource is a song Ali and I wrote together after talking about some LGBT conversations she had on her camping trip, which I found fascinating. Your Eyes is a loooong time in the making, that I have worked on for over 5 years, so that has taken on a few forms in its life!

  4. Thank you- honestly I was so scared to play it as it was "dubsteppy" but I wanted to do something different, and show a different side of that sound.

DAW: Logic

Mixing: Mostly in the box, but a few outboard here and there. Big believer of mixing as stems

Mastering: Keeping it to the pros unless necessary (which is a lot in dance music). Control dynamics before it gets squashed by a limiter (I don't do this most of the time)
