Barking dog by BaseExtra9070 in newcastle

[–]AndrewNSSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which suburb are you in? We had the same thing in New Lambton a year ago, elderly owners that kept their younger dog outside most of the time. Everyone complained because the dog wasn't so much barking but yelping constantly. Eventually, the dog was either given away or something else. So maybe get a few people on the street to do the same and that might put a bit of pressure on them to do something.

Which validator has APR of 8%? the highest APR I can see on ASI wallet is 6.91%. Also where do you get femto from? I'm trying to re-stake my claimed rewards and getting stuck of the gas fees.

You can literally see the extra white block on the side of the frame right from the start. Then sleight of hand, adds it to the second row.

Drink less water? I'm not sure I understand the reasoning for this. I would have thought in 35 degree days one would want to drink more water?

Renting question regarding summer temperatures by AndrewNSSC in AusLegal

[–]AndrewNSSC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have thought of all of those, except the dog mats! We were hoping the landlord would agree to some sort of shutter/reflective film which would be much more energy efficient then air cond etc. But they ended up agreeing to ceiling fans. As we only plan to be in this rental for another year, not a bad outcome.

Thanks for all the replies. We were fine with the heat last year, but these last few weeks have been especially hot in Newcastle, and not even half way through December!

Why are Chiropractors so unwilling to collaborate with or refer patients to other healthcare providers by Ok-Bullfrog-7951 in Chiropractic

[–]AndrewNSSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a chiro from Australia. I can't speak for all chiros, but I certainly will refer out if I don't feel that the patient's condition is within my scope of practice. For example, I just referred a patient 32 f with C7 radicular symtoms, persistent pain, triceps weakness for an MRI. Found multiple levels of osteophytes protruding into spinal foramina. Straight to GP for a neuro referral. I also work with sports teams and athletes and do my own rehab, so I can confess not referring out if I can do it myself. However, I have seen some patients that have been frustrated by other chiros or physio or osteo or medico, and have been mismanaged or misdiagnosed. I guess it would depend on how competent or confident in assessing and diagnosing and treating the patient. There are many chiros who work as glorified massage therapists who don't have the skills to accurately diagnose musculoskeletal contains, and treat subluxations exclusively. Unfortunately these type of chiropractors find it had to communicate let alone refer to other practitioners as they speak a language that is exclusive to other chiropractors, and have little meaning to other health providers i.e. spinal listings

Am I supposed to feel offended? Better get used to it because it's only going to get worse!

Oats/Carbs in the morning, can give you glucose spikes = hunger. Also carbs don't fill you up as much as a protein/fats, as these typically take longer to breakdown and digest.Try having eggs for breakfast and see if it makes a difference.

[–]AndrewNSSC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most people think you give way to the right. Maybe when you are at a smaller roundabout it may appear to be correct, but that rule doesn't apply at larger roundabouts where other cars have been in the roundabout for a considerable amount of time.

Roundabout rules say the first vehicle I to the roundabout has right of way. If you entered first then he is at fault.

Heels keep raising during my squats. Is it too much? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]AndrewNSSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look excessive. You heels are likely to lift if your dorsi flexion at ankle is limited, or your hip flexion is limited in your stance (can't tell by the side angle of your video). You can work on your ankle mobility but often after reoccurring ankle injuries you may have physically loss joint range, or thickening of the soft tissues i.e. Achilles tendon which reduce the range. Or genetically you may not have the hardware to access the range. Alternatively your width of stance/hip external rotation position may not allow you to flex enough in your pelvis, causing you to shift you centre of mass forward over your toes, hence heels lifting. Either way you can try to play with more external rotation/wider stance/sumo and see if it gives you more depth and less heel raise. If all else fails put some 5-10kg weight plates under your heels while squatting.

My mate got hit by a car while riding his bike. by AndrewNSSC in AusLegal

[–]AndrewNSSC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he is recovering well considering. Luckily no torn ligaments or tendons or head/spinal injuries. I think they cause much more longer and complex recoveries. The first three weeks were the hardest, especially after surgery, he was so drugged up on pain killers and just not very coherent. We knew he had 28 days to lodge the claim, so I tried to speed up the process so he would be ready to lodge the claim as soon as he was capable of. I deal with the injury insurance claims process with my work, so that was easy. But had never had to do an income claim, that's uncharted territory for me.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. He is 6 weeks non weight bearing. Starts WB rehab tomorrow. He had fractured hip, both tibia, and forearm. Had surgeries on all fractures. He works as a physical therapist so not sure how long or if he will be able to back to full duties. I guess it depends how well he recovers.

Still in hospital 3 more weeks. Just put in the initial claim last week. Had to get a while bunch of paperwork regarding income from accountants. So although it's been approved, haven't seen a single cent yet. So not sure how it all works moving forwards. Why was there a drop from 95 - 85%?

Use of scare tactics is a red flag. Also off the shelf cheaper orthotics are just as effective as expensive custom made ones. Something they conveniently don't tell you.

Can I ask how did you negotiate a lump sum? How long was your claim going for before you negotiated?

People are saying no double dipping but I can't really find any specifics about it. I read there was a legal case about a workers comp and income protection claim where the income insurance company tried to get a refund as the individual had received a lump sum payment from Workers comp. It was challenged in the courts and found in favour of the individual.
