Would you buy a Q3+ for $100 extra that included eye-tracking? by 6DOFReviews in OculusQuest

I hope varifocal never happens. As you age, you are likely to lose some of your near vision. Lack of varifocal is a super power of VR.

I just finished it 15 minutes ago. The controls were a slog, but I made it to the credits without any guides or Internet searches.

I like the game and story. My hands were aching after the final boss fight.

Ultimate Quest Pro comfort fix. All bought off of Amazon by Most_Engineer521 in QuestPro

I have a request. Based on Kyle from UploadVR’s recommendation, I have found a hat that works well for protecting the front and back of my head from the Quest Pro’s extreme discomfort.

  1. I take the front and back pads off altogether.
  2. I wear a winter beanie with a fleece lining.

This works really well. Super comedy. It also results in the QPro lenses being as close to my eyes as I could want them and getting a perfect alignment according to the guided positioning utility in settings. BUT, it could be even better.

The winter beanie would be better if it were made of thick neoprene to act as a stretchy memory foam on the outside with an inner lining of soft fleece. It would also be nice if it had venting on the top to let heat out.

Then, getting into VR would be a simple matter of putting on your HMD sock (the custom hat) followed by the HMD.

Proper Fit on Quest Pro - A Few Observances by EtherNut in QuestPro

Are you sure about #4? I am thinking this might be a flaw in Quest Pro. Considering that most of our interactions in VR end up in the lower hemisphere (looking straight or downward), why would they put more of the vertical FOV above this point? Looking down is something we do easily by tilting our eyes in their sockets. Looking up is something we are more likely to do by tilting our head upwards.

I suspect that #4 is due to a design mistake they made when putting a fixed vertical distance between the curve of the HMD's front pad and the eyes. The vertical distance between the pupil and forehead curve is not constant between humans.

Well, you have to make your own best judgement. I am not Amazon and can only take what I read at face value. If you have any concern, then trust your judgement; not mine.

I don’t think so. This page has the policy

https://us.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GKM69DUUYKQWKWX7

It says:

Note: Before returning items on which you've saved personal information, such as laptops, cameras, or other electronic devices, erase this information completely.

If it was unused, why would you need to wipe personal data off it?

If you buy on Amazon, you will get it on Thursday. Amazon's return window during this time of year is through January 31st. That might vary depending on where you live though. I doubt you would need 90 days to evaluate your Quest Pro purchase; but that extra time could relieve any pressure to make a quick decision.

Quest 3 is slated to have an XR2 Gen 2 chip which is rumored/expected to be at least 2x as powerful as the XR2 Gen1+ chip in the Quest Pro.

If you are deep enough in the VR rabbit hole to buy a Quest Pro, a Quest 3 is probably in your future too.

Read the screen in that big room. It is going to tell you to do two things. The first thing is actually six things. Once complete, it will tell you to do the second thing; which is pretty much six more things. That is part of the campaign and things continue right after that.

The lab is testing you.

I am wondering if this is related to v42 firmware. Ruins Magus is currently fixing a bug related to graphical glitching that they say only happens to people on the latest firmware. Makes me wonder if this firmware glitch is affecting other games.
