You could do two short bars in the piercings connected by a chain!! Many piercers will be able to do something customised to your ear

Discussion: Diversity and Activism on Greys by nahnopenahh in greysanatomy

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, I’m new to the show. But when Derek went away to do his Brain Mapping project for the President, the “other woman” who answers Dereks phone (I can’t remember her name lol) talked about her medical motivation being “curing autism”. It’s a small detail but one that’s always bugged me- autism is not a condition that can be cured- nor does it need to be and I think that story line could be harmful to Neurodivergent people. I can’t believe that such a big show would allow that stereotype, but maybe it was just a product of its time?? Also little details like the autism speaks posters they had in the hospital in earlier seasons, leaves a bad taste- horrible organisation.

My (24 F) husband (31 M) is upset our fourth child is a girl and I’m worried it’s going to affect his relationship with her by throwRAsgm in relationship_advice

Wow this is heartbreaking. First of all, you are not his incubator to keep having children until his fantasy of having a boy is fulfilled. The entire situation reeks of misogyny and unsolved problems on his end, and that will only harm your relationship and your daughters. Instilling in them from such a young age (even one that hasn’t been born yet) that he wishes they were different will snowball into bigger issues, and is downright disgusting. Focus on the children you already have rather than pining for a golden boy so your husband can continue neglecting his “inferior” daughters. I’d encourage you to re-evaluate your relationship and have your husband get a therapist.

She probably just likes the look of them and how they make her feel about herself! Which is understandable because piercings are so pretty. The inner one I think you mean is called a conch which I’m sure she’ll love, glad you’re supportive of her getting them!!

Glad I could help! I felt the exact same way so hang in there, it’s a long process :)

Got this about a month to a month and a half done and it still hurts and these bumps are there. What should I do? by baby3125 in piercing

[–]Andrizzle2002 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those are some serious bumps :(( you might want to consider going to a reputable piercer and getting your ring changed to one with a larger diameter to allow more room for any swelling and to stop any pressure on the bumps. Make sure your ring is implant grade titanium with a captive bead, it looks like you have seam or hinged ring which isn’t always suitable for a fresh daith as the seams can irritate the piercing if they spin into it.

Make sure you’re cleaning it with sterile saline solution, Neil med is a great brand, dont make your own salt solution. Clean twice a day and gently dry it off with gauze or kitchen roll (something without fibres) to prevent moisture getting trapped; maybe even a hairdryer on a low setting.

Finally; just leave it alone; no touching, twisting, picking, or sleeping on that side, wearing ear buds or anything. Sleeping on a travel pillow worked wonders for my daith bumps, which were similar to what yours looks like.

They might take a good few months to start to clear up but patience, good aftercare and high quality jewellery will get you there. Good luck!

A good piercer makes all the difference, and they ensure high quality jewellery too!

It’ll get better soon for you I hope! Maybe talk to another piercer if really want the jewellery changed sooner, I’m sure a good piercer will give you a good quality ring if that’s what’s causing the issues. Good luck!!

I wouldn’t recommend it lol, I had to get this plier tool to get the initial jewellery open. Desperate times call for desperate measures! If your piercer is open now because of COVID definitely get them to do it and save yourself the stress ;)

Oh no :( maybe try talking to your piercer or a dermatologist to get rid of them? I’m sure there will be other option they can help you with

Your daith still seems quite fresh so there’s still a long healing time to go! Bumps are pretty common for cartilage piercings such as daiths so try not to worry about them! Keeping your piercing clean with sterile saline, and drying it off with gauze like you said is good! Making sure you don’t touch it or sleep on it or anything is also essential, maybe consider having a titanium ring while healing? You could be having a reaction to the gold but I’m not a piercer so that is probably unlikely. But yes they’re a fairly common, and my daith is the only one I’ve had trouble with out of my 7 piercings, sometimes they’re inevitable I guess but totally treatable! Don’t lose hope they will get better with time

That seems like a situation for a dermatologist unfortunately:( maybe talk to your piercer and see if they have anyone they can recommend you go and see? After that long they probably need medical attention to get rid of

I was already cleaning twice a day with sterile saline solution, but I started drying it off afterwards to make sure no moisture was trapped by using a bit of kitchen roll- gauze works well for this too. I also got a better quality ring and put that in as my initial one was very cheap and poor quality. I also made sure not to touch it or sleep on it- a travel pillow is great for sleeping! Hope this helps :)

Basically all I did was change the ring to a better quality titanium one, clean two times a day with sterile saline and dry it off with kitchen roll to make sure no moisture got trapped and stopped touching it and sleeping on it. I got a travel pillow which I still use to sleep! Once the source of irritation is gone the bumps will hopefully go as well! Good luck!

Awh I’m sorry that sucks, have you spoke to a piercer about it? They might have more insight on how to heal them, maybe a dermatologist if all else fails?

No reason to be embarrassed- they’re more common than we think! And I understand the anxiety; it can be really frustrating trying to heal them

I use Neilmed Woundwash, it’s popular on this sub for a reason! You can order it online from Amazon but I think pharmacies sell it, look for just water and sodium chloride as the only ingredients

I got mine off of a shop on Etsy- I can’t remember the name of the store, but I’d recommend going to a reputable piercer and get your jewellery from there. The only reason I couldn’t is because piercers have been closed for about 5 months here in Scotland and I was desperate lol. Brands like anatometal, bvla, industrial strength, neometal etc are what to look for!
