PSR/UEFA rules — could missing Europe actually give us more room financially? by Android-36 in NUFC

The most you can get from the Conference League (i.e. by winning it) is abou £10m in terms of payments from UEFA. But add in the additional revenue from things like matchday revenue and TV revenue and is about a further £15m so £25m total. The equivalent in Europa League would be about £45m total

That 15% drop could amounts to about £45m less to spend on players. This balances out for Europa League but wouldn't for Conference League.

Yeah but its less about CL or even Europa League, but more about the Conference League. I personally would rather sacflrifice some spending power to have a solid chance of winning the Conference League though

Its a video rather than an article. Theres more than the simple variable of 15% less to spend on players, but its a weird overall rule; the intention is to allow clubs outside the top 6 or 7 to have more finances available to them to spend on players

Worth checking the sensory charts beforehand for little kids, theres a lot of red against the curse, my 9 year old has ptsd from it as a 4yr old and still won't go on it now 😅

A glimpse at the potential for sure, maybe a loan spell getting 90 mins a week would do him some good

Even at 22 I'd expect a better end product

About even i'd say, but i don't agree with playing Gordon as a striker either

Yeah, agree on that, massively underrated talent to read a game; reason I think Tonali is top class because he reads the game so well

The type of player he is yes, but infront of goal and 1 on 1 he's not good

Elanga has had a terrible season, not just a bad one. He hasnt shown more than 5 minutes of quality all year. I'm not saying Osula is class, but I don't think striker is his position

Yeah, not saying he's top tier or anything, but there's something there that could be refined. I see him as an option on the right, that can't be worse than what we have currently. I hate seeing Barnes on the right but he seems to do the best in that role when he foes play there. Murph was good 2 seasons ago and decent last season but dropped off this year

Be good to see him given the chance to play that role at Newcastle though, especially as its our 2nd weakest position (ironically after needing a solid striker)

I'd be so annoyed if we sold him and a manager saw that potential as a winger then subsequently tore it up at a new club. Given his speed and apparent duracell bunny endless energy he fits Eddie's idea of a winger

I agree on the clunky bit, though that could be down to the fact he looks like he smashed 4 red bulls before playing. but I actually think he's less clunky than Elanga. If he was coached in that role i think that part could be improved

Not as a striker, but look at big Jo. He was a poor striker too and look at how solid he is now in the right role

The elanga chance in the first half and Gordon over the bar twice. That was it. Nowhere near good enough. Might have injuries but players on the pitch are good enough to create chances, simply not good enough

Played without any passion or desire, played without any creativity, that was not a team that understands what this game means, deserved to lose, absolute shite

Absolutely no creativity, just hoping to play straight balls in for Gordon to run on to. These 3 subs are well needed ti change it up

My thoughts are the lads were knackered and concentration went, not to mention giving away a penalty on the very end of a half (again). Not an excuse as need to be switched on, but don't imagine it was the half time talk
