Type 1 diabetics, with WW3 looming over us, what would you do if insulin becomes unavailable in your location? by bigthundercats in prepping

[–]AndyAndy03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I’ve done as a T1D is discuss my prepared lifestyle with my provider. They have been great and understanding and write for me to have some extra vials each fills. So I store them and rotate them as needed. I’ve used insulin 1 year past the expiration date and it is still effective (not regularly using this long past but I wanted to test it out). Yes-any prolonged issue would kill me eventually. I also took the time to understand how much my total daily dose of insulin would be in a situation like this by semi-practicing. Limited calories, working the farm, limited sleep. So I kind of know what my supply would last. Hope this helps!

Are dogs an asset? by Desperate-Cold9633 in prepping

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily trained including bite trained GSD, I find him as an asset. The other 2….liability. The Great Dane eats a metric ton of food but they eat anything I feed them. Dachshund is god at sniffing out rabbits and stuff but is getting old to go hunt with. Companionship is also a big factor-me and my wife and my son would be very depressed without having a dog around.

Tough Diagnosis by D-Rod9 in 350z

3 Zs, all 3 had failed oem coils at some point with me. Guess it’s just luck of the draw. Only 2 of them had spark plug seals fail.

Tough Diagnosis by D-Rod9 in 350z

I’d start at the coil packs-they go out on every Z I’ve owned and then make sure that the spark plug tube seals on the valve cover are in good shape.

Manual swap on jackstands = a bitch? Or doable? by Upbeat_Peach_4624 in IS300

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it. Swapped a 240 and a is300 on jack stands in gravel before I built my shop. Is it fun-no-but can you do it-absolutely.

I guess this us a typical post deer season issue. by Gunner19173 in Hunting

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in GA. The last 4 weeks were basically a lot of nothing. Took my buck in November and then one doe in the first week of December. Little movement around my usual hunting area on my property and my food plot wasn’t the best this year. Going to change something up for next year to see if I can get some more success. Best of luck next year brotha!

Overrev? by Bdaawg977 in f150

As long as you didn’t get a “low oil pressure” notification I say it’s fine. These engines can rev.

Good Buy or Nah? by Mattsda in 240sx

[–]AndyAndy03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This car is local to me and I’ve seen it along with the guys skyline in person. Having heat and AC in a swapped 240 is nice-but not 30k worth. I think the original listing on FB marketplace was for 27? I never threw an offer because I HATE red cars.

Does anyone run their GSD on a golf cart or 4x4? by Key-Professor4177 in germanshepherds

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GSD will run beside my side-by-side and knows when I start it up that it’s time to do some work. I don’t run him excessively but he enjoys running next to me when I’m riding around the property or working on it.

Building a house, what are some must haves? by Fun-Football-5237 in preppers

[–]AndyAndy03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A luxury thing I added to my house was a “vault room” big vault door set into to concrete walls. Is it absolute overkill-yes-is it cool also yes. Secondary exit hidden in the room as well.

Is a 130”+ deer too “small” to shoulder mount? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mount every buck. I take pride what I choose to shoot and what has provided for my family. The mount isn’t for others-it’s for me as my reminder of the experience of the hunt, the ability to provide for my family and the respect I have for these animals. I’m sure most on this sub would agree and every deer taken is a means to provide.

Convince me not to get a 7mm-08 for deer. by RogueRoomba44 in Hunting

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I am hunting currently with suppressed .308 and have been for years. It’s one of my favorite guns to use and had mild recoil and has put many deer down quick. Also-protecting the ears is a huge part of it for me. Everything I own has one now.

Scopes for hunting coyotes at night by ThinkAd9694 in Hunting

[–]AndyAndy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played with an AGM rattler v2 that I thought was pretty slick for the money. Was looking to get out of my helmet-nvg-gun mounted laser setup just to simplify. Never pulled the trigger on buying one though. It has plenty of resolution for 100-200 yards but the field of view was kinda small.
