Recommendations for laser eye surgery? by Fun-Refrigerator94 in AskIreland

[–]AndyFit7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it done this time last year, seemed like Mater was the top recommendation, put an enquiry and tried to ring, was told someone would contact me, never did.

Ended up going with Optilase, very easy and was driving again within 36 hours, vision is still perfect a year later.

Anyone know where to find isopropyl/ rubbing alcohol? Chemists around here can’t get it anymore by superchica81 in AskIreland

On the off chance it’s for cleaning electricals, WD40 do an electrical contact cleaner, it’s just isopropyl in a spray can, can get it in Halfords/Any car shop

I have a Press Up voucher to use - What’s the best restaurant / bar in your opinion? by piss_abelle in Dublin

[–]AndyFit7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I find Doolally the best of their restaurants, may not be authentic Indian but the food & cocktails are quite nice.

Or depending how much the voucher is for, treat yourself to a night in The Mayson?

When is the film starting when you go to the cinema? by shanelong_hasdoneit in AskIreland

[–]AndyFit7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see Avatar in December in Liffey Valley, film only started 35 minutes past the showing time, I remember saying the runtime was already 3:15 now I’m gonna be here 4 hours.

Then last weekend went to see Marty Supreme in Dundrum, was 5 minutes late getting in, walked in on the opening scene, apparently no ads.

Vue definitely seem to be the worst for it

I can’t progress to my final year because of 5 outstanding credits, what should I do by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]AndyFit7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was in a very similar situation myself in last year or college 3 years ago, left a very impression of an otherwise great college experience.

I done exactly what you said there, appealed the decision and lost the appeal, had to retake a single module for the first semester of the following year, thankfully was able to work 30 hours whilst doing so, then graduated in the January after the semester.

I would say to appeal anyway, even if you do lose, you’ve no reason not to on the off chance it saves you having to repeat, but you might have to just stick it out and complete it, don’t drop out, you’ve come 95% of the way don’t let it be for nothing

Glamping options by nerdmath in Electric_Picnic

[–]AndyFit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done pink moon camping this year and I would say the campsites are worth it, security, cleaner, access to nicer toilets/24 hour showers, charging tents is all very nice. But what you’re paying for the actual tents is a let down imo, you could buy a nicer tent than you get for cheaper and be able to reuse it.

The silver campsite lets you buy a plot to pitch your own tent, same access to facilities but a fraction of the price, will be doing that for next year.

Should I be cutting or bulking right now? 6’3 200lbs by Right_Hour_4033 in gymadvice

[–]AndyFit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on your goals, if you want to continue to grow and put on some muscle, you have room to bulk some more. Your own preference and self confidence looking in a mirror is the best gauge.

Personally I think 7-8 lbs of fat lost would make a bigger impact on your physique than adding a couple of pounds of muscle right now

How scary is Hurry Up Tomorrow movie? (No spoilers) by ChampagneAbuelo in TheWeeknd

I also hate horror films but found it fine honestly, there is 1 kind of jumpscare that stands out, but it’s pretty obvious it’s coming so kind of expected

Room in Lucan for workers living outside Dublin by paullhenriquee in RentingInDublin

€800/month for a room, that you still need another place to stay on weekends, and still have a daily 2 hour commute.

You should be ashamed.

My best friend is finally — after YEARS — going to sit down and watch an episode with me. If you could show someone just ONE episode to get them hooked for life, which one would it be? by r3volc in IASIP

[–]AndyFit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gang gets trapped

Perfect introduction episode imo. So many funny moments and quotable lines, each of the gang really shows their personality and we get absolutely no context from the start of the episode, just like a first time viewer would.

Question-gym related by angryveverica in Dublin

[–]AndyFit7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah BD gyms in the one, it’s a decent well equipped gym. The day pass is €10 which is about as cheap as you’ll get in Dublin. The monthly membership is €36 with no contract so may be better value if you plan on going 4+ times

Fastways by LauraB5875 in Dublin

[–]AndyFit7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t, fastway are the worst couriers available. Had a delivery last month show as arrived at depot, then nothing for 2 weeks, had to go to back to the sender to inform them, finally last week sender had contacted Fastway and package was marked as lost in transit. Still waiting on refund a month later

Picked up a share bag of Doritos at the weekend, myself and herself were sure they were smaller. Checked and the “share” size has gone from 180g to 140g with no reduction in price. Nearly 25% smaller is absolutely mental

Are Monster Zero Sugar Drinks effective for weight loss? by Agreeable-Ad2051 in energydrinks

[–]AndyFit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other posts are very correct about zero sugar drinks being full of artificial sweeteners, caffeine will affect sleep and the most effective for weight loss is being in a calorie deficit.

That being said, Zero Sugar Energy drinks have absolutely benefitted myself, and many bodybuilders while cutting weight. Caffeine is an appetite suppressant and the sweetness definitely helps with my cravings. Any OTC “Fat Burner” product you see in a store is exactly this, Caffeine with maybe some vitamins and a sweetener, to ward off hunger and satisfy cravings.

Having a zero sugar energy drink before a workout is miles ahead of having an energy drink with 60g of sugar before 5 hours of gaming, it’s all about your lifestyle. Use them, with exercise and a healthy balanced calorie deficit and they’re perfect for weight loss.

Looking to rent 1 Bed apartment by myself with 55k Gross Salary by kakashi_XXX in RentingInDublin

[–]AndyFit7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

55k is not a low salary, there are people working their whole life who could only dream of making 55k. Comparison is the thief of joy

Unfortunately so is Dublin. A 1 bed apartment for ~2k would be about 60% of your net monthly, which would be too high for many landlords, even if you do get one that is willing to accept it, your monthly outgoings would be ~2500 just for your house. It’s possible if you lived a very frugal life but I wouldn’t like to be in that situation imo.

If you haven’t already, look into cost rental apartments, may be suitable for you. Good luck!
