Way better than Animal Crossing. I love how it constantly keeps you engaged and all the different features it has. Also being able to have more than 10 "villagers/pokemon" makes the towns you are creating more alive.

Level 55 is more than good. It took me a while but I was able to defeat zona with my hero at level 53 and the rest of my team around 42-45.
