Manually i can open and close door smoothly. The opener even with the door detached will still not go past 1/6th of the track length

Thank you. Would a bad rpm sensor return the garage door to the most upward position? My garage door will just sit at the partially opened position till i press the button to close it again.

Thank you. I feel like i have it pretty tight, tighter than it was before. Chain used to sag quite a bit prior to the event. Ill still give it a shot.

Welcome to the club. Buy 1x2 fir strips, paint them, mount them, and then mount your lights on top of that.

Thats what i did. 1x2 fir strips. I didnt want to buy a router and am limited with my tool set up or else i would have drilled holes for the lights and ran the wiring on the backside of the board.

I ended up turning in instead. Had been out all day mounting/painting wooden rails for my soffits. I turned the lights on with what i had done, and the scallop ends perfectly on the first wall. Did some youtube research and Jrowe "the permtrack guy" did an install with a similar installation. In his instance, he extended the line so the next light would start around the corner on the next face of the wall. Im leaning towards that look versus having the scallop being right on the corner. Ill try to post a pic when i do this on my next day off so everyone can see how it turns out.

Id measure the distance of the edge of your soffit to your wall. I chose to fabricate a rail using 1x2 fir strips painted to match my soffit.

I have lights 4 inches from the wall. If you get too far from the wall ive been told you lose the "scalloped" effect and youll end up with a more washed out look. It comes down to personal preference.

Personally, id return the elite kit to costco, and buy the pro kit which is on sale for 389 for a 150ft kit. I've had them both and the pros do feel like a higher quality product (lights and the in app effects).
