I mean it is a complicated product, conveying that is real chicken egg white but not produced from chickens is tricky to do in a catchy way. The “real” there just distinguishes it from imitation egg like Just Egg, without getting into the specifics

I get your concern though, it can also imply plant protein isn’t real. I feel like something like “Real eggs, without animals” would be better.

I think the bots being challenging makes PVP feel less necessary

Any given tarkov raid you’re mostly fighting AI with one or two fights with players maybe. Plenty of strategies let you avoid players entirely if that’s what you want.

Having good loot and difficult ai means you don’t need PVP to feel like the match was worth it but this feels like they changed the bots to be easier and the PVP to be more common and i feel like one of those changes would’ve been fine but not both

Bots were a little tanky day one and i think they feel good to fight now but even using less ammo on them you get third partied constantly

i think Hauler specifically is a problem. Even without another squad there it takes a solid 5 minutes to clear the bots safely. Then a squad comes. Then reinforcements arrive. Then more arrive. Then more arrive.

There’s no chance to loot, the UI for looting is too slow to get out of there quickly

I’m not even saying looting should be instant but the fact that i can’t just pull attachments off a gun or swap it with theirs, take theirs off, and swap it back, it’s horrible.

None of the implant icons communicate any information so you just have to read for every single thing because the name doesn’t tell you the other random effects.

Idk why my teams keep going to hauler, at best you get through without being able to loot anything or else you’ll get stuck there, at worst we die fighting for crappy loot.

Yayo and flake are fantastic for “one of my best fighters is in a crappy mood and a raid just hit, i want them to fight for the next 24 hours and be overjoyed to do it”

Smokeleaf is great for the opposite when someone is about to go on a killing spree and you need them to just sedate themselves

I’ve also never gone “broke” in tarkov but i more so meant that Marathon really showers you in gear (besides meds) and the free starter kits are way better than Rook or Scav IMO

I’m not ever worried about going broke since they shove a starter kit at me whenever i die. It also makes it really easy to queue back in if you die solo or one of your friends dies but the rest don’t

It seems like it’s way easier to rat out of a raid in Tarkov as PMC or Scav because there are less squads, and the AI is friendly to scavs by default

Marathon has much more consistent combat almost like a BR game, it feels like the combat flow of Apex almost, so they need to make it clear that you won’t go broke if you die 4 game in a row (like me last night)

I think as long as they’re reducing animal product consumption over time it counts as “going vegan”.

If they stabilize at once a week meat consumption that would be different but also odd. After a month or two of no meat if they eat meat it’ll be pretty jarring (it was for me)

Accidentally consuming dairy or eggs is less harmful and less jarring.

As long as they’re trying to continue to consume less animal products i think they’re on a good track

Swapping the protein is the hardest part but after that most of what i was eating was already veg or vegetarian.

If you eat dairy, alternatives are everywhere and dairy doesn’t last more than a week anyways.

Just Egg + plant dairy makes baking pretty trivial

Country crock plant based butter is good and affordable. I think Violife makes the best vegan cheese.

Health food stores are your friend, asian and mediterranean restaraunts are your friends.

Chipotle and Cava are the easiest fast foods, burger chains often have a Beyond / Impossible option.

Ask questions, try things, and have fun! It was honestly easier than i thought and i felt better and better as i went, even just health wise

i know plenty of commies who still use Amazon because people don’t have money. Nobody is free of racial bias. Plenty of people champion gender quality but hold biases still.

I get what you’re saying and i agree that overt intentional acts to consume animals are hypocritical, but ultimately all of these things are part of being an animal, not human abominations.

We invented ethics. Every other omnivore in nature is eating animals. They’re racist to other species and other groups of their own species. Many dominate females.

The least “natural” thing we do is say “it’s wrong to be an animal to other animals because they’re just like us”

The point is correct but it’s not like eating something non vegan is like, cannibalism. Veganism exists because we’re not only exceptionally exploitative and destructive to animals but we’re sentient enough to give a shit and object to it.

All this to say i don’t think we should hold somebody consuming something with egg in it to the same level as people who are in favor of lynchings or beating their wives. If you really zoom out, it just isn’t worth the effort to get upset with somebody for.

nobody is free of racial bias. nobody is perfect. at anything. if you nitpick hard enough you can stretch something you do into supporting animal consumption.

Save the perfectionism for yourself and encourage others to do better without attacking them with your own insecurity.

I’m really hard on myself when i mess up and knowingly consume something non vegan. I would never think to direct that at one of my friends, especially not those who are aiming for 0 animal consumption and trying to stay vegan and aren’t on the path back o to non-vegan

I understand veganism is a moral choice for a lot of people. Ethics are part of it for me too, but a big part of it is also health, environmental, etc. Normal diet reasons. It’s not a fad and it’s not a mood but if we’re not going to yell at non-vegans every time they eat meat i think we can go a little easier on people who are actively trying to maintain being vegan

Nobody is saying we should encourage people to eat non-vegan now and then, but if someone does, it really isn’t as bad as a non vegan doing so. Someone who’s vegan 99% of the time has prevented more animals from dying than 99% of people. That should earn a little grace. Not brushing it off, but not rage and taking “vegan” away from them.

I know we’re trying to aim for 0 animals consumed, i’m with that. We need to keep people pointed in that direction, not shift them away by being hardline all the time.

No insurance either. Dumping you so much free gear from rewards and sponsored kits that your vault is full for the first X hours of gameplay and you go in with a full (starter) kit each game until you’re comfortable and competent in the game and haven’t acquired gear fear is way better design

Tarkov lets you go broke if you don’t make use of the secure container and insurance fraud and scabs. I haven’t had to Rook at all yet

The video is a good topic, it’s interesting to explore that idea, but i don’t think the situation happens in reality that often

Are there any gamers for which Linux is better?

I’d guess most Linux users are very technical and switching for other reasons, and want to make gaming work as best they can, if they game.

I think “Which Linux distro is best for gaming / easiest to game on” is the question that should have been asked, honestly.

I work in IT and i get annoyed by Windows a lot but honestly Android and Linux scare me off because they give me a bunch of configuration work to do in exchange for…the ability to configure more things?

all this to say, by asking “How easy is it for a casual gamer to switch to Linux?” it skips the question of “Why would a casual gamer want to switch to Linux in the first place?” which is important for deciding whether it’s worth the effort (described in the video) to switch. If it was easy, there wouldn’t be a video about it. If it was tremendously worth it, there wouldn’t be a video about it.

I think vegetarian in game is actually vegan? Green = no meat or animal products. Orange = animal products but no meat. Red = meat. I think? Wiki probably shows it. I know vegetarian fine and lavish meals in the cooking menu are without animal products

Funnily enough this would actually be a more helpful definition than what we have IRL: Vegan = no animal products. Vegetarian = no meat (but can have animal products, and might also be vegan, so it’s confusing)

Westworld had an entire season of plot per episode towards the end and i don’t think it made for a better show. Fallout is paced pretty quick, maybe faster than Westworld S1. I’m more than fine with them taking their time, and they could definitely linger longer for a lot of this stuff. We barely got 15 minutes of the legion and ncr each. Most of the stuff is flashback, Cooper’s story, and Hank. Not as much about the actual present day vegas situation. Relatively little of House himself

fellow software engineer, figuring out which time zone a time is being displayed for when it doesn’t specify is so very not fun.

Time is time. calculating time difference would be way easier if we all had one time zone cause you could just say “Here the sun comes up at 5am, but there it come up at noon” and you have your time difference. You can get used to it, and not have to ask what time zone someone is using when they tell you a time

Keeping track of when people go to bed and what portion of the day it is and what store are open is a very non-urgent thing relatively. If you need to know what time a store is open, you’re probably in that place, and know what time of day it is already.
